Do ozone generators really work in getting rid of the odor of plants?

I have used several types and gave it up for several reasons

1. They do not work well in getting rid of the smell even with neg ion generators inside them.
Use a carbon scrubber.

Some of us have spent lots of money trying to find something that worked.

Carbon scrubbers are what we settled with

2. Too much ozone is not healthy for you to breath and is hazardous to your health.

They are expensive and not healthy for you in large doses. Just save the money and purchase or build a carbon scrubber

You should use an ozone generator in combination with your carbon filter (so after your carbon filter). Any last remains of smell are captured by the ozone. Then you need to extract your air directly outside, otherwise ozone levels would build up. Ozone is unstable so it breaks down is about half an hour I think.

The same ozone generator you can use for disinfection of your cabinet, but use is only once before you start growing, no plants in the room (as you will kill them with those levels), on a timer and make sure you don't enter the room until all ozone has broken down or the room is ventilated.

ozone is very useful, but harmful to humans and plants. I keep a couple ozone generators handy in case of smell emergencies, spot treatments, or for sterilizing & killing mold & fungus between grows.

But use I carbon scrubbers for day to-day odor control. Nothing beats the safety and effectiveness of a carbon scrubber.

totally agree, but even carbon filters can fail Anyway, a combination of a carbon filter and an ozone device in the ducting is the safest you can have in terms of smell.
