I go from a solo cup to 2 gallons. I water around the base of the plant until the roots reach the res. Those waterings will fill up the res too.

i meant like actually how do i do it? if i take the plant out of the the solo cups only the roots wil be exposed. is that what im supposed to do? if it was soil then the soil would be stuck around the roots and it would be easy to replant but with the perlite its all going to fall away right?

Actually, I let the plant get a bit rootbound in the solo cup & then the roots hold all the per/verm in.

Floating around here somewhere is a pic I took... lemme look for it.

Oh & I've transplanted from solo cups too soon - it was not rootbound & the per/verm mix fell away. Just fill the new container deep enough so that you can put the plant in & fill around the roots.

is pretty hardy.

Edit: I found it!

I just let my waterings fill it up. At that point they do not need watering every day. At that stage I water them once every three days or so, but there is a rockwool cube in there that I germinated the seed.

For a couple of grows, I filled the reservoir with liquid seaweed when the plants were transplanted, but I didn't really notice any difference.

Only 2 or 3 inches tall, I'd let them grow more before transplanting.

I have grown IRB's/Hempys in all sizes, and a 2 to 3 Gal bucket seams to work best.
and Ms Blue gave you some great advice of letting it go a bit more in the solo cup.
I water around the base of my plants after the transplant, to encourage the roots to follow the water down.
Also Why are you growing GUYS?

Great example Cheese, I have a quick question. My leaves are almost identical to yours in the photo. What was the issue with that plant? Was it a nitrogen deficiency, ph problem, or something else?
