1. goto google
2. type in "carbon filter site:gardenscure.com"
3. read resulting links.
4. the actual answer is held as an exercise for the student.

There are 390,821,453 ways to make a carbon filter, or buy one for $50-100.

5. do a journal so we and other new growers can see what you did.

C'mon now, dude, you saying you don't know where to buy a book? Borders. Books-a-million. Amazon.com .
You are on the internet after all- try googling "buy jorge cervantes grow bible" and see what happens.

Welcome.

You should start with the reference library. Its a great resource. Here is the link
http://www.gardenscure.com/420/reference-library/

The idea with feminized seeds is to just have sensimella (seedless) buds.
It also makes cloning easier as you don't have to wait for the plant to show sex since you already know its a female

I think it would be a great idea starting out with feminized seeds your first time. Then, if you want to breed, move on up to regular seeds.

yes.

But the info on this board is better- I have seen lots of people quote cervates grow bible and he's wrong in a few places.

Search here, then get a book if you still want/need one. Read for like a month before your grow, you will be glad you did.

Just doing my 1st grow, 35 days into flower, 35 to go. Dunno how many times I saw something and thought, so THAT'S what the person on GC meant........

I've grown veggies before, but almost all outside. inside under HID lights and MJ are a bit different.

One thing though- if you do a journal, (and please do) or even if you don't , it helps to have a decent digital camera to take pictures- I dunno how many times I've seen where someone describes one thing, then a more experienced grower takes one look and says, "no, it's N deficiency, do XYZ and you should be fine."

Very much easier to post a pic, and describe how it happened, temps, etc. than to try to describe it only.

I do plan on reading up a lot and formulating a plan of action before I start growing.

I don't plan on growing until mid january after we move into a bigger apartment and I have a bigger closet. I just figured that its never to early to start learning all the tips and tricks of the trade.

So yeah I guess I have a while to learn about all growing, and I plan on spending that time reading and picking all your sweet delicous brains. haha

haha, The best things in life are free.

Well I figure thats because how to books tend to generalize topics that they are talking about, but on here you can talk to people that have grown what you are growing and can help you with problems.

Good evening,

When I was a teenager and grew my first bag seed seedling in a dixie cup filled with crap soil from the front yard of an apartment complex I lived at with my Dad in Bayside, Queens NY before there was internet or computers for that matter..
It seems like yesterday but, reality slaps me back reminding me it's been 40 years and you know ... i'm still learning.
I grew that little bag seed weed in the dixie cup on the dining room windowsil until my Dad listened to a documentary on tape (he is blind) about "How-to tell if your children are using MJ"
I came home from school one day and noticed my (clears throat) "Tomato" plant was gone cup and all. Thats what I told my Dad it was while it was young.
Point is, it's been a long time and a great experience growing and i'm still learning and will learn many new ways with all these Great new strains coming from people like all of you.
Thank you!!

Have a Great night
