![]() ![]() ![]() | unfortunately, using the fluoro's is pretty much what I have to use all the way through. I have a 400 watt hps, but it will be too hot for such a small amount of space; so its useless to me this time. I have never used fluorescent lights to grow anything before, I have never used a scrog technique either. I have grown outdoors, and indoor with the HPS. Every time I have ever grown, space has not really been an issue... this is putting the creativity to the testl. I am hoping the screen will eliminate potential problems with the limited height. I do not want to start this project though, if I am going to run out of space to finish it. The space i have is it. A blasted 3 ft x 3 ft. Last edited by mikewho; 10-27-2009 at 11:30 PM.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I use floros for cloning and sprouting and vegging. I've never tried to flower without using HID lights. But it's your deal, give it a try. Three feet is not much room at all, as you already know. Can you go from sprout straight into flower? Do not top the plants just have one main cola? Also I have heard there are products which will stop the plant from stretching as soon as you use it, can't remember the name. Search, you'll find it.

I am a bit confused though. Go from sprout straight into flower?!? I did not know that was possible... but I must be misunderstanding something. Also, I thought that topping the plant would eliminate some of the stretching.... I have never done so before, so I guess I am wrong? | |||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not always right. Just trying to come up with some ideas. I haven't tried going from sprout to flower but it might be worth a try. It sure would make for a fun experiment.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Try doing some LST to keep your height issues under control. It's simple, yet effective. You can go from sprout to flower, however your yield will be greatly compromised. Topping will not stop a plant from stretching but yes, it may eliminate some height. The key to minimizing stretching is all right here in internodal control. Keeping the light and dark temps as close as possible will help eliminate some of that stretching. As for the fluoros... get a butt load of them. I've completed a couple grows using fluoros but they don't compare to flowering under a HPS. Look into some bigger cfl's if possible. You can get 2 standard socket 105w cfl's (2700K or 6500K) on ebay for $60 shipped. Snaggin me up a couple more next week for my expansion room. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You can use your 400 in that space, but it will require some venting.. an air cooled hood or cool tube will be perfect.. You will want a carbon filter for the smell, so you might as well vent it through the hood an out anyway. The best suggestion I can come up with is SCROG.. a screen of green. you can find some threads on it in the training section. Oh yea, welcome to the garden!
