Is fan control bad for the fan?
permalink

I'm not much of an electrician, but I think I heard somewhere that reducing input power is bad for the fan. Well maybe that sounds silly to me now that I wrote it - I mean any fan with a low/med/high switch has that.

Hard sayin not knowin.

I am not in the know on this...would be cool if someone is and responds.

I kind of suspect it depends on which fan is being used. I am sure some fans can be reduced with little to no change, but the average cheap one may wear and what not?? donno just a shot.
