Hey
I have a question. I want to grow bud but i live with my parents. BUT!! I life upstairs and the only entarnce to the attic is in my room in my closet. I have never been up there in my life and my parents haven't been up there since as long as i can remember. Would i be able to grow it there with the dust? Would the smell seep down into my room? will there be enough ventilation? Do you have any tips?

I wouldn't grow in an attic.

Too hot during summer
Insuficient ventilation, lack of Co2 will slow growth
Plus, you're taking a chance of getting caught by your parents which will suck. They won't like what you're doing. It also puts THEM at risk for something YOU are doing... that's not good... I'd wait til you get your own place and then grow... that way YOU take on the full responcibility of YOUR actions. Just my opinion.

I'm just going to test my seeds and try the bud for next summer. I'm going to have only one plant and i'm going to make it flower asap. I what to know is it possible to do? because i'm goin to do it any way. i just what your help.

If *I* had to grow in an attic I would....

1) Look at how much height I had to grow in, and think about employing the SCROG method. (Even with 1 plant)
2) Install an attic fan ($30 from Home dePoT) to solve the stale air problem. These are easy to install - I put one in my grow room. The CFM is something like 1600.
3) Install a CCTV (Web cam if $ is tight) to monitor progress, that way you don't HAVE TO climb in the attic just to check on the plant(s).
4) Use Flourescent lamps only because if usng a HID lamp there would be too great of chance of fire. Dust is extremly flamable. Flourescents give off such little heat that *I* would feel much safer.
5) Avoid getting caught by parents....

I wouldn't go against your parents wishes. THEY could be the ones to get in trouble. You would feel pretty horrible if something were to happen.

The best help we can give you is to understand that growing in your parents' home is not acceptable. It is against our Guidelines and is not open for debate. When you move away from Mom and Dad and you have your own place, then start by reading
