Howdy--Long time smoker--1st time grower--I have a 3x3 ebb and flow system w/ 400w MH system on order-- also 400w HSP conv. bulb and seeds--growing area will be a portion of a spare bedroom(not the entire room)--How many seeds would I expect to germinate out of 10?? How many plants would fit in the grow pan?? The seeds are indica and allegedly will be 2-3ft--Any and all help is welcome---Engineer...

The number of germinated sedds wil depend on the quality of the ones you have, just that simple.
If from the bag, who knows; if from a good seedbank 10/10 is usual deppending on your experience doing it...

Your 400W MH will do just fine for a 3x3, the number of plants will vary deppending on the strain but usually 1 plants s/f!

Thanx, Wolf-- the seeds are from a seed bank, so I have high hopes--another thing that concerns me is ventilation-- this is a spare bedroom that my wife uses for her clothes, etc--I know that I'm going to have to block the window with black plastic for the dark times, but what about air movement---exhaust, and fresh air intake-- do I need outside air?? this is possible, but not too practical-- I could exhaust thru the closet--


this forum has been a great source of knowledge--hope the questions don't seem too stupid-- I'm new to the biz------
will look for a book on hydroponics--recommendations????

Is the room in an area where a dead space can be accessed? Upsairs would include the attic, downstairs the basement.

Most structures leave large spaces between the studs of the walls and the floors. these areas offer large spaces to dump warm air and to get almost fresh air from.

I would grow 10-12 in that space but I don't grow Hydro so....
