![]() | ok i been using a moisture meter for awile now but since the plant has gotten bigger it seems when i insert the moisture meter that its cutting threw some of the roots? also is there any other way to test the ph in soil besides using one of those meters??? thanks ![]() Rocker~ | ||

I hear the same thing when I insert my probe but have never experienced any ill side effects from using it.You can use litmus paper or preferably a soil test kit for pH testing ![]() Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope ![]() LB | ||

I don't use it everyday. I just double check the soil around the time that they're usually ready (like if they've been needing to be fed every 4 to 5 days, I may check them on day 4.) I might check them a little more frequently after re-potting to help set up a schedule (I measure my water out with a measuring cup and feed my plants all the same amount. That can help make it easier to know when to feed again.. If it makes you nervous, you can try sticking your finger in a drain hole on the bottom of the pot. When the soil is dry, try lifting the plant up to get a feel of the weight when it's dry. That will help too. Good Luck | |||
