![]() | I have seven plants currently flowering for about 5-6 days now, they are currently starting to show their sex. Out of the 7 plants I have 5 have little white hairs starting to grow and the other 2 are showing no signs of sex (they are a lot smaller than the others). I have them on a 12/12 schedule, dark period being from 4am to 4pm On to the problem, last night around 1 AM the power went out for 1 1/2 hours, then came on for and hour then went out until around 5:30 this morning. I unplugged my lights/timer before bed so they wouldn't turn back on(since the timer I use will only work correctly if there is power going to it), woke up this morning set the timer back to the 4am-4pm dark schedule and then left for work. What I am wondering is will this effect my plants in anyway. My guess is no but I wanted to hear what others had to say. Also if there is a better way to deal with situations like this if you could let me know it would be appreciated. Thanks

![]() | I think your plants will be ok. From what I have read, the plants make a chemical that is reactive to light. This chemical is what makes the plants flower rather than grow in a veg state. So an extended OFF time (no light) should basically make more of this chemical and not confuse the plant into thinking its spring/summer. If you interupt their "sleep" with even a little light, then that would reset the chemical, and the plants would think it's spring and not fall/winter. I think I am giving a very laymens explanation to this, and maybe someone else can explain the details (chemical name, etc). Hope this helps though ![]() K9

![]() | yep its a chemical in the plant. the longer the lights are out the more the chemical builds up until it peaks then flowering begins. but even the slightest bit of light can reset this cycle, anyways you should be fine as long as it was only a 1 time thing. Rocker~
