about the peat/sand/soil mixture and the African violet soil

well.... I already have a massive bucket of Natures sponge peat moss for the peat. i have a bag of Eko Potting mix for the soil. and for the sand i dont have anything yet there are quite a few types in the stores and im not to sure which to get. any suggestions??? And this damn eko has nothing written on it so i dont know what it has and what i need. all it says is its enriched with eko compost and pH balanced and water retention. I KNOW NOTHING!!!!

also Im not familiar with the African violet soil. Shall i pick this up? If it incorporates budding then thats all me.

Well also do i evenly mix all of these together or more than others. And with the sand ive heard i should just put this on the bottom of pot for air to my little green guys.

~Thanks~

Macster:
The peat/sand/soil came all in 1 bag(looks to be mostly peat and soil, with about 1/8 sand for drainage). The African Violet soil is a loose, airy soil that also contains vermiculite, and is good for growing plants from warm desert/tropical climates. It might help budding, but this is my first time using it,but my results are AWESOME so far(for veg),growing about 1cm+ a day in all directions.I left for a weekend and my ladies were only 2 inches high, and when I got back 3 days later they were 5-6 inches high with leaves as wide as the plant is tall.
Always make sure that you check the ingredients of what is in the soil, because some soils may have nutrients or other matter in them not listed on the frot of the bag,and may inhibit growth or even kill your plants.Peat is good, but use it in a mix with soil.My soil mix was about 50/50(african violet soil and the peat stuff,so more like
50% African soil,25%peat,5%sand,10%vermiculite,10%unknown soil, with gravel rocks in the bottom of the container for drainage)
I hope this helps you-it has for me.
