Ok Boyz, Ive now set up my grow room its 4x4. Fair size! every thing is ready apart from one problem, the heat or lack of it. The grow room is in my garage but is a little cold, especally at night when the lights are off. So I had a idea. What if I put a calor gas fire out side the room with a fan sucking in the heat? would it work? Thanks.. Red eyed... | ||

| not sure what a calor gas fire is but it doesnt sound like something that should be in a garage. try a heating pad under the pots or heat your water(if hydro) with an aquarium heater. Fairly certain that heat pads for plants are available at grow stores. Can also just try insulation if you are not too cold. be generous with the insulation on the floor.

| With Temps that cold.....that would take like 100 heating pads. You would do better to heat that room with ice cubes if it was that cold! Laterz, QAD

| dunno, you would probably need alot of insulation tho. if youre technically inclined, estimate a heat balance knowing the input of the pad. how bout looking into ducting some of the house heat out to the room or finding a small boiler/furnace with the appropriate safety equipment and heat the garage. It is nice to get into a warm car in the morning

 | How bout one of thoose oscillating power heaters from home depot 30.00 with thermostat. and a smoke detector.

| i guess u cant have the lights on during the night??? .. thats how i beat the cold here minus 6 some mornings.... i also suggest and water if possible ... with the 2 lights on a 1000 and a 600 the room stays at about 20 degrees celcius.

| you could also help by using lights at night and use the day as your dark cycle if you are sufficiently sealed from light in the box.
