How Early is to Early to flower?
permalink

So. Here's the getup. My seedlings are showing sex at TWO WEEKS! My fault. I have been tripping the lights when I go to bed and turning them back on when I …remember. It must be right on the 12 hour mark, cuz I got girly girls and bad boys. Only three boys out of nine seed! There are no alternating nodes, heck, they aint even six inches high yet. So the question is, can I force these girls back into veg with 24/7 or 16/8 or should I let them stay as is and flower as they want?

if you want to, they can go all the way through flowering if you keep them on 12/12.

Usually you can force them back into veg. Put them on a 24 for a couple of weeks and then you could give them a few dark if you want. Sometimes the plant will want to keep flowering but forcing them to veg has worked for me.

your yield will suffer man... look at the plant in the previous post.. its nice and crystally, but there arent loads of weed on it either.. this would be a good plant to carefully manicure the budz off it, reveg it then take clones... if you have a 8 inch tall plant.. youre not going to get 10 zips off of it.. thats pretty much one of the only draw backs to super early flowering that i can think of... there are probably others.. but im too gone right now to think of them.. puff..

on the plus side though.. you can sex your girls very early (i know obvious)

another plus... you can see how potent each plant will be.. this is especially good if you are trying to select a mother to snag clones from and you dont know how good the genes of your beans are..

im thinking of trying this with my girls (=\ and boys probably) im going to flower them a few weeks early, let them go almost all the way through flowering.. take some clones off of the ones with high resin content and or the ones with a higher yield.. after taking clones and making sure they root id let the mothers finish out and get probably about a bowl to a joints worth of great sample weed to look forward to getting from the clones.. thus taking part of the long wait out of trying to find a decent mother from baggie beans and not wasting a whole grows worth of time on flowering out fully vegged crappy yielding low rez plants...

just a few thoughts..

what i mentioned earlier was really about selecting a good mother for cloning a bit quicker than you would using other methods.. the bigger and better but part comes in to play when you grow out the clones from your mother and flower them under decent conditions..

Yo lateBloomer-
put them back in 24/0veg.You will wind up with next to nothing if you flower at such an early stage. The point of this board is to grow the finest bud around. You will be much happier with an additional 5 weeks of vegging!
