Quagmire is beginning to sprout.
what does flushing mean?

when you say you need to flush out the ferts so the weed won't have a bad taste what exactly do you mean?

i think it means flushing it with 5 gallons of water, but it just doesn't sound right wouldnt that kill them due to overwatering?

Quagmire,

Flushing is the process whereby you put 3x the container size of water through your plant. EX -- 1 gl planter pot gets 3 gl water.

If you gave proper drainage, this is not a problem. Make sure your plants need watering and are pretty dry. Put plantz and planter in bath tub or much larger pot. Flush with the appropriate amount of water.

As 3hounds said to me: It's not amount of water that overwaters, it's frequency .
