![]() | alright so i've got started, i think. i have two fluorescents 32 watters (but it equals 150, and gives out 2600 lumens, can someone explain all that?) in about a one square foot space. i am growing three plants at the moment to see which looks best when i decide to work on only one. i started them on a very diluted 30-10-10 fertilizer, will that work? i can't afford the HPS lights so that wont work for me. any other suggestions or cheap methods to help me out? see anything drastically wrong in my setup? also, i have some rotten bananas and apples, can i put those in the soil for nutrients? any suggestions, tips or comments much welcome and appreciated. | ||

![]() | Welcome, now...READ THE GROW GUIDE!!! It will answer all you questions. For vegging in that space when the plant is still young, that amount of light is fine. Better with flo's: I've hadd good results with the plant and aquarium flo's found at walmart and many other places. Fert is perfect for veg. Clean soil with good ferts= good plant. Start putting rotten stuff in there and you get mold, mushy stuff, nasty = unhealthy plant, waste of time, not stoned. Good luck hope this helps. READ THE GROW GUIDE, it's worth the time. ![]()

![]() | FYI understanding PC's... its a 32w bulb that claims to produce the light of a 150w incandescent. Most PC makers also use a perceived lumens rating not real lumens. Those bulbs are probably really somewhere in the range of 1700-1800 lumens. 2 but better 3 should grow one plant. Couple things though Household PC's are around 2600K, red for flowering and not so good for vegging. The $25 Flourex worklight from Wal-mart is one of the few that have a good blue color temp around 6800k for vegging and its a 68w PC I believe. Unless you are growing a clone from a known female you have about a 50/50 chance of ending up with a useless male. Picking the best plant actually increases your odds of getting a male. Veg all three for a while (at least alternating nodes) and either start flowering all three to find the females or try and trick them with a couple short light days. They will continue vegging but hopefully show a couple flowers.

![]() | Walmart also has in the lighting section, flo bulbs for plants and aquariums with enhanced red and blue. OR, home depot has flo's for 48" shoplights that burn at 6500K (blue), not sure exactly what they were but they are in with the flo's and are labled on each pack of two. Good Luck, Hope this Helps. Peace Out! ![]()
