Okay I read a bit, but I figure I'll learn the best by just asking.

So Im looking to start with just one plant maybe 2. How would I go about this, how many seeds? cheapest way to get good lighting, how much space Id need, and any other info you think would be helpful. Help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome To HC!
here is a bit of reading I HIGHLY suggest u take a look at
Grow Guide
That will answer most of your basic ?s, if you ahve any more specific ?s feel free to post em after, its just a lot easier to help u out if u already have a basic idea of what u wanna do, cause we dont know what ur situation is, ie. space available, $, privacy, etc.

welcome to ur new hobby! Kindbuddy

Welcome!

Yes, read the grow guide... I know you have lots of questions but that's the best place to start. Then, as you go, post questions on the forums, yada yada yada...

It's so easy

Im a newbie grower but after reading this board for about 20 Hours+ LOL I feel like an expert already. Ok this is what you need.

1. Ph level 6.3 - 6.8 dirt. You can look on the bag of dirt.

2. Let the dirt dry out almost completely(try sticking finger through bottom of the drain hole and see if the dirt is dry). Overwatering is a 1st mistake of new growers. Dont start using nutes until after it's 2 weeks old and only start them out with 1/4th recommended dose on the bottle and raise bi weekly from there.

3. Room Temp. 80's - High 80's

4. Get some tin foil for reflection or mylar and or plain white walls.

5. HPS Light for a closet grow 400Watt. Use 50 watt per square foot to measure how many watts you need. HPS Lights are the best.

6. A fan for ventilation blowing on the plant slightly to create micro tears in the stem promoting a stronger plant and I guess healthier and bigger buds.

7. After they are 12 - 14 inches tall put them on a 12/12 light cycle for flowering 12 on 12 off.

8. Keep them on a 18/6 or 24/0 hour cycle of light for vegging state and keep on schedule until flowering.

9. transplant when 5-6 inches tall to a 5 gallan bucket.

If you can't afford A HPS(High Presure Sodium) Light right now use fluorescents. They put out less heat and can be put closer to the plant for closer internodes You'll need about 4 Fluro's 100Watters. Then for flowering you need an HPS and maybe a MH(metal Halide) for a more diverse light spectrum.

Just read up man you will find almost 99% of what you wanna know.

~ I love this web site~ Ohh yea im gonna start a grow journal as soon as get my camcorder back from my bro. Until then happy growing my friend.
