What's up? I'm new to this website so it'll take time for me to adjust to this, but I just wanted to get this out into the open. I am growing a few plants for fun but I don't want to do this half-assed. I actually want to care for the plants and do a good job so I will be better instructed for the future. So far, here is my setup. I have 2 medium sized pots with 1 seed in each and one rectangular planter with about six seeds spread out for germination. In one of the medium pots germination has begun. I wanted to start over in planting so I dug up the seed but found that it was, in fact, growing, as a centimeter long tail had come out after 24 hours. So I replanted it, and did the same with some new seeds. I am starting out indoors so as to germinate the seeds, and as soon as I can, I will get big pots for each plant and transplant them. Can a veteran please assist me in the following: How often do I water the seeds before they have germinated, and how much? How often and how much do I water them after they have penetrated the soil? -Thanks a lot, and I hope to hear from one of my fellow horticulturalists soon.

Since it's not very deep in soil...use a spray bottle and spritz it often enough that the soil doesn't dry out at seed depth. After it sprouts ya should continue to spritz the soil surface (soil will dry out from surface down) to make sure tap root doesn't dry out on it's journey. Then you'll only need to do a thorough watering every 3 days or so for a while. OP

QUOTE] Old Phart is correct, of course. If the above statement is true and you haven't checked out the Grow Guide you should. Since you plan to grow outdoors hang out in the Outdoor Growing forum. Check out old as well as current threads. Good luck ![]()
