so i built NGB style micro cab... but havin problem w/ my mothers in the chamber (actually havnt sexed yet) they stopped growin, i started em out in solo cups picked the best 4 and transplanted to slightly bigger pots.... the new ones werent much bigger... same depth but just wider, plant had taproots comin out of the solo cups when i did this already. they grew a bit after transplant but now kinda have stopped.

i gave aprox 1/4 to 1/3 str standard peters 20-20-20 after they adjusted, seems like they need next to no water, after waiting 4 days and waterin again it drains out the bottom right away like the soil is still moist under the top layer. they got 60w light total, 2 x 15w @ 4100K + 2 x 15w @ 5000K.

problem is that they havnt grown enough to actually take clones from, the undergrowth that comes off the main stem is barely big enough on only one of the 4 to do anything with... i know ya cant take cuttings from like regular leaves and stuff, ya need something w/ a growth tip, right?

i dunno what to do now, the regular leaves are making it a bit crowded but they wont help me w/ clones.

what should i do? feed more (stronger) ferts on next watering? they dont seem N deficient cause leaves are fairly green. is the problem that not enough light is getting to the undergrowth? should i start to prune & bonsai them, cuttin back parts of the top leaves?? are they really root bound in the size pot they have?? im justa little lost here, havnt had this problem before [1st micro grow tho]. any help would be appreciated!!! thx!

From your description I'd say yes they really are. Two things you can do. Re-pot to 1 gal. pots or root prune and re-plant in same container. Moms and micro-grows seem to be paradoxical. Good luck.

yeah looks like i'm going to have to root-prune, there's noooo way i could fit a 1 gallon pot in there, much less 4 of em.

how much should i cut back on this? never done it before, dont want to go too crazy... anything else i could do to help?

if moms & micro chamber are so paradoxical how can so many people do it so successfully??? lol

I remove about 1/3 of the total root ball by cutting around the outside of the "cylinder" of the root ball.

Show me "so many people".

After it recovers from the trim, train the tip down to promote side growth.

should i remove some of the "depth/height" of the rootball as well? like i said before when i transplanted it the new pot wasnt any deeper, just wider.

lol i guess you have a point about that, from the way all the howtos and faqs describe it, keepin moms in a micro chamber sounded pretty easy lol.

The Bong Master: yeah i was thinkin that might help too - get more direct light on em.

Yes you may take a slice off the bottom of the rootball too. I have a root pruning how-to in one of my journals but I cannot locate it.

well i just did it... wondering how well its going to work. took away a good amount of roots & soil.... how many times can this be done and what kinds of results can i expect?
