hey ive got 5 strains, i cut 8 or 9 days ago...hey havent started any roots, the cuts dont look fresh anymore, I took them from the tops about 3 or 4" long each, i used stim root liquid with rookwool cubes and i have them in a humidity dome, with a 26wcfl over top about 2" away from the dome, the humidity is 90 but the temp is only 65f is this probably my problem? would putting a container of water with a 100w aquarium heater underneath the dome help alote? thanks

![]() ![]() | I've had a 1 clone in for 2 weeks trying something out. (whilst waiting for more space in the flower cupboard) In the root riot cube, purposely overwatering and keeping the plant like you would do with cut flowers just to see if there was new growth in this 'soaked ' state, and behold there was! New growth with no roots, Now I started backing off the watering so much and the roots seemed to have grown better than they do normally after feeding them as any other clone would be fed straight from cutting. I am not sure about the root riot cubes and what is in them? they seem to do the job everytime perfectly, but this time is even better. Last edited by therapy; 03-13-2007 at 11:55 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It seems the most important factor in growing roots is the moisture and oxygen available to the root system. You may want to put a bubbler into the water to get more air and movement in the water itself. If you check out the best cloning method thread, it reviews about 10 different approaches. The aeroponic system being the absolute victor by far. I believe this has to do with the amount of air getting to the roots while keeping them moist. Peace

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Definately need patience . . . When I first started to take cuttings, I tried using rockwool cubes, and peat pellets with a humidity dome. Humidity was between 75 - 90% and the temps were about 75F. It took AT LEAST 3 weeks for all of my clones to root for some reason. As long as they still look healthy, you should have nothing to worry about. As far as wanting the clones to root quicker, I took matters into my own hands and built a bubble cloner. So far with 100% success rate, I can have rooted clones in about 5 - 7 days . . .10 days tops .. . Only cost like $35 to make the bubbler, so its definately worth the time and effort that you put into it . . .

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have about 8 (1 is almost 5 weeks, 2 are 3 1/2 weeks old, and 5 are 1 1/2 weeks old) cuttings in 9oz cups of 50/50 potting soil/perlite and after all this time, they still look very very healthy, just no freakin' roots on any of them. How long is too long? I even read somewhere that too woody or too green (read "new") of a stem will make rooting take longer.
