![]() | I've tried cloning about 20 plants or so. I followed all the rules like they say and was never successful. Heres a quick run down of what i do. 1. find a healthy strong branch 2. cut a few of the bottom leaves off for extra stem. 3. Take a sharp clean razor and cut the branche at a 45 degree angle, immediately dip in water. 4. dip clone in rootech rooting gel. 5. put clone in moist rockwool cubes with about 2-3 inches of stem in rockwool. 6. squeeze sides to get rid of air pockets. 7. mist leaves 3 times a day. The clones sometimes wilt a little then bounce up and will stay alive looking healthy for a couple weeks. Then they die showing no signs of roots. Ive actually only had luck once with a clone, it managed to grow a few roots out but then i forgto to water it later.Ive seen video demonstrations, read books and guidlines but never seems to work. Any pro cloner here know the secret for a newbie indoor grower like me?

... is to stop using the rooting gel. MJ clones very well in just ph adjusted water (I aim for about 6.3). Neartly the same process as you ... without the gel. And 95% of the time, I have roots on every cutting within 14 days. No nutrients and low light levels for 14 days ... only moistening the cube when it is nearly bone dry. I don't mist. They need to feel the *urge* to search for water (IE: grow roots) ... keeping the cubes (or leaves) too moist will result in slow root development. If you still get no results ... try a heating pad under your cloning chamber ... sometimes, if it's too cool (or WAY too warm) root growth is stunted. Do you know the Relative Humidity (RH) and temp range for your cloning space? We are using basically the same lighting ... I keep my dual 20 watt fluorescents running 24 hours a day over the clones. Hope it helps, M.M.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Never squeeze rockwool, it will become over saturated, and lose its air-retaining capacity. Sounds like they're over misted / over watered What temperature you running them? They need to be a pretty much exact 75 - 80 deg

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi Greenthumb1221, welcome to the Garden! ![]() I agree, never squeeze the rockwool. Also, make sure your 45-degree cut is just below a node, more nodes in the cloning media the better. Humidity domes work better than misting. Thread moved to Propagation. ![]() penguin

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I use a homemade bubble cloner with almost 100% success rate. No muss, no fuss. Take the cutting like you described, I skin the stem a bit, dip into rooting powder, stick it in the hole under 13W cfl, wait 7-10 days and you've tons of roots. Hope this helps. Choader

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I lightly scrap the sides of the stem with my pruning shears, to peel off that outer tough layer of the stalk and to help expose the rooting hormones to the part of the plant that grows.
