![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Baba Lou ![]() Just wanted to post an update here... All clones have been placed in 3" rw cubes and are out of the dome. I have my fogger running in front of a fan which is keeping RH around 60%. The clones were placed in the 3" blocks either the 12th or 13th and all but one already have at least one root poking through. I do have a question about this one though however. Why the red stem? That's not good is it? I believe I recall this happening last time when they died. This is also the one w/slower root development. :confuse Anyway, I just attached the other shots. What can I say, I'm too lazy this evening I guess. Hope all is well at your end of the world. ![]() -MW

The red stem happens some times when the plant experiences extreme change of low/high temp. It will be ok, I don't think it will be a problem, as long as it has roots will survive. One thing that I would suggest is, on pick one, you see tha little node that you cut a leaf off? that should have been inside the rw, a good place to start roots. ![]()

One last update - and Lou, thanks again for the easiest cloning I've tried. If you can't do it this way, you should stick to seeds.... My females going into flower - 3 weeks to the day from when they were cut from the mother standing in formation for inspection... ![]() First day in the flower room (in the square green bucket on a homer)... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Still hanging on, pic 1. High temps, dust and mites drove us out of fairyland, which is undergoing renovations to fix problems. Will easily pick up time lost thru increased hygiene and effficiency. A shame to chop early, but preserving the plants was a bigger priority than the smoke. [ i still got a sackful of stones lol] I still have seed left to mature on most plants in case that picked already is nonviable. Going to clean plants right up, trim roots and repot into some square commercial hempies i found at tip. better use of floor space, stoked with my hempy trials. pic 2 mother plants before cleaning and move to reveg. pic 3 the other people, half sexed stuff to veg, the rest to continue on heading. pic 4 hempy trials - miss skunkoid pic 5 miss freakshow pic 6 miss new toy pic 7 miss sativa Congrats on everyone's efforts, nice. I will catch up eventually lol nigel

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hail, O Master Cloner! ![]() Great guide! Definitely passing this info along to my buddy. He has cloned twice. The first was utter failure (I think RH was the issue after reading this). The second time he used rockwool and set up a humidifier (a fairly powerful one) right next to the prop tray/dome (which did have 2 smallish holes in the top). He also had a digitial thermo/hygrometer with a suction cup on it that stuck perfectly to the inside of the dome. It read 100% very quickly. All in, it took him about 3 weeks to see some roots, though even then it was mostly the clump of white spikes (primordia?). I think where he went wrong was spraying the hell ouf of them, all day long lol. He also sprayed the inside of the dome constantly and had water in the bottom of the tray at one point for a week or so to let it wick into the RW. It is amazing a mold problem didn't develop after ~3 weeks of all this water/humidity but we never did see any signs of it. 9/10 clones survived his second round and I think the difference that time was the humidity (his temps are always on the high side). I think he just slowed it way down with all the damn spraying. Anyway, I'm going to check out your perpetual thread now ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sashanub, thanks for all the good words buddy, happy that you found few things in this tutorial that can help your friends cloning skills to get better. I found cloning to be, one of the most necessary skills needed by a grower, that wants to maintain a yearly garden. I have read so many story's about growers and the mishaps they have when they clone their plants, and also I have read lots of tutorials that explain the practice of cloning, giving all the scientific facts but they overestimate human natures "curiosity". If we, as gardeners, have a little more faith in mother natures skills and less human curiosity, things will get along as planned. ![]() What I mean by that is: the grower has the perfect tub, he keeps the perfect temp/Rh, and still his clones die. why? The scientific part was all done correctly but the gardener failed to obey mother natures rules. [Couldn't keep curiosity at bay.] Had to open the tub and look inside, and of course he had to spray also, why? Because its our nature not to have patients. 1) It takes about 8 hrs to get humidity to really build in the tub and it takes one second to let all of it out, by opening the tub. 2) If you want to grow roots to look for water, why spray the clones? The reason that we keep the RH at high levels is, to keep the leaves green, meaning the clones will absorb moisture from the air, they don't need your extra assistance. STAY AWAY from them for 48 hrs, let mother nature do her thing, have some faith. ![]()
