  | Lou Cypher..quick question. I had thought that exposing roots to light was not a good thing. Your method, however, uses a clear cup and semi clear tub. My their fruits, so shall ye know them...obviously your method is highly successful so I'm wondering why the transparency is not an issue? Any thoughts? Thanks!

| its air that is bad for roots, not light. light promotes the growth of algae in the root zone. which can be bad. it can also not be bad... algae release oxygen as it does its thing  lastly clones arent in the clear cups all that long. once you can see teh roots its time to transplant anyways. | ||

I you remember when I was growing strictly seeds I use to put blue tape around my solo cups cause seedlings get to stay much longer in there and I know they're growing by the amount of leaves they produce, so light could effect the roots. Since clones are not growing when they are rooting, I want to put them in veg the fastest that I can. Roots just like the rest of the plant, look for light too, so if the cup is clear, the first roots that come out they hit the walls of the solo cup, letting me know they're ready for vegging. BTW, these cups that you see are the same ones that I bought and use in the first 100 seeds that I sprouted last march, yes the ones with the blue tape, now removed. What do you do with yours, throw them out after every use? | |||

| OH I just intially kept buying the wrong sizes and stuff I don't ditch I recycle if I don't keep them  .
