| Great post, L.C. !! It will be helpful to many members, I'm sure and help them to realise that it is a very simple operation and method.  Through trial and error, I found that warming my clone tray[s] from below to be very beneficial. The trays are on the top shelf of my cabinet, which has my main light bank underneath; the heat from those lights helps keep the shelf above warm and at just the right temps. Consequently, I have a very good success rate. I also began about a year ago to use seed starter medium to root clones, and noticed a quicker turn around time in root development. Used a perlite/potting soil mixture before, and still had about an 80% success rate; with the seed starter medium, I haven't lost one yet...  Again, good info! Nice pictures, too.  Nelson

| Hey Lou. I posted earlier and found that my problem was that I was letting air seal the stem. Anywhom . . . Im happy to report that after re-planting the clone I have some roots. I noticed them today and Ive noticed that theyve grown quite a bit from this morning to tonite so this is good news. Whats a good time to start vegging them ? | ||

| I re-cut the stems and dipped them in cloning powder . 2 of 4 are rooted. I did my own little test which is to slightly pull up on the plant after a few days. The two that ended up showing roots were locked in the soil and the other 2 that I tested to day came right up. So I had to recut those 2 and ill leave the dome on for a few days now. Is it ok if there domes have a little air hole ? Or should there be no air at all the first few days ? | ||

They do much better though in very high RH, so if you remember to open the dome once a day manually, plug that hole. No need for fresh air to be getting in and dropping humidity % lower. Try not to wet too much the soil in the solo cups, some times they get stem rot. Usually when you pull a clone out to be re-cut, look at the stem, if its on the dark purple side instead of green, its getting rotten. Reason, the soil was like mud. | |||

| Sup Lou, I've been looking for some new cloning methods lately, my success rate with rockwool and a freakin EZ Cloner has been around 5%. Now I'm behind as hell and I just took 47 new clones. Unfortunately I didn't read your whole thread before I made the chops. You have a lot of good info that I see I was doing wrong like opening the dome more often than needed and not allowing an open cut to suck air. I can't wait to get home and fix some of these things. This is what makes this site the shizz, we learn to appreciate the beauty of a herbal accomplishments and in turn, we put time and effort into this in the hopes that others will experience the same. "Heal the world" Come on everybody!  "Make it a better place"!Anyway I caught the love bug, great read, clone on...

I can't emphasize enough the importance of keeping that dome cover close for the first two days, and not spray the cuttings again after the initial misting, even if they look droopy. As soon as the cover is close and humidity builds they will be right up and looking happy. Let that stem look for water, let it feel the need to grow roots, the leaves will survive on water from the RH in the dome. If you need to elevate the RH in the dome, just spill a little water in to the tray it self, it will evaporate creating humidity.  Stick around friend, Chapter III is coming this week. | |||

| high lou ,i have been having serious problems cloning so i have tried your method to a T.and so far so good it has been 3 days since have taken them no roots yet ,but like i said they are very healthy ,i will keep you posted on my success | ||
