![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Lou. The 2 plants I said I had rooted were put under the lights today and there deffinetly ready for vegging. All is not well though. The other 2 still havent rooted so I repulled them and I put them in a cup of water. I also took 2 more clones from mama and put them in the water as well. Anyway I cut them this time immediately out of water and than put them strait back into water. Than I removed from water and got a big ball of rooting powder on each of them and put them in soil. I pressed down around the stem, watered, than re pressed around the stem to hopefully push out any air that may be there. There in the dome now so I guess ill check them in a couple days and see what happens.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | seaman, the two that don't have roots yet, are their stems purple? Try not to have your soil too moist. Here is something that I do to know that always the same amount of water is in each cup. I wet a good amount of soil, I fill both my hands, and squeeze tha hell out of it. What is left is, moist but not wet, soil. Give it a try. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | hey Lou . . . My clones will be done there first 48 hour run. In your steps you stated that you remove the lid for 10 mins and you dont spray with water anymore ? Why is it that you do not spray with wate ? Does water on the leaves amount to nothing beneficial other than humidity ?

Don't worry if they look a little sad after few min in the open air, as soon as you close the dome, in couple hrs humidity will build up in there and they will perk again. I noticed that a lot of growers do that. They open the dome, the clones get droopy, and they go on and spray them again. No need for that, the RH in the dome has enough moisture for the leaves to stay nice and green until they grab root.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Yea so I went out with my baby clones last night and gave them about 10 minutes of air while I smoked a bowl . Didnt really notice wilting or anything. I did re-spray the lids to make sure they were wet but I left the leafs alone. As I was contemplating my stoner psychology last night I think this 10 mins thing and leaf thing will help roots to dig so I feel im on a right track. Anyway when I see roots I will thank your ass again sir Lou .

I stumbled across this thread last night and read the whole thing through - twice. At least 3 times I've smacked myself on the forehead because I've recognized things I do wrong or differently with my cloning. The first is taking clones that are too small, the second is checking on them all the time, and the other departure is stripping the stem. I also use gel/liquid cloning solution instead of powder and have a clear dome instead of that all clear rubbermaid looking container (what kind is that anyway?). Is that container completely air-tight? I have a feeling I can use something like that right in my big cabinet under the MH & HPS just not as close as I would have vegging or flowering plants. Your grow shows about 1/2 an ounce per clone that way - have you vegged them a week or two and then flowered? If so, what difference have you seen in production in terms of quality and quantity? My current seed issues has me considering running a batch of clones to make up some dwindling supplies. Great thread Lou - I think my cloning method is about to go through a complete overhaul.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | UTS, it makes me very happy to see that this thread its been helpful to so many. The tub that you see it was bought from K-Mart for $19 and its a food preserver, and yes its completely airtight. Last year I was using one of those shallow black trays with the clear 3" dome, but it wasn't enough space for it to maintain high RH and I had to spray my clones every day to keep them standing thus slowing down the process of rooting. When I got this 2 cu ft tub my clones didn't need to be sprayed at all, the humidity build up was so thick that I noticed my clones were greener and actually growing while rooting. It fits 24 solo cups perfectly in there. Yes, the clones you see in this thread were veg for a week and produced 9.6 gms each on average. My current rotation got two weeks of veg and they're double the size of the last ones. I'm expecting at least 15-20 gms on each one. Also, my rotations go by clone generations, and yes I'm seen a lot better quality buds from them. By generations I mean, I keep one clone from every rotation to be the mom of the next butch of clones. They seem to adapt more & more in my environment that way, so they produce better and I noticed a big increase in crystals and quality. If you want to see some details on them, look at my perpetual tour thread. Happy cloning my friend.
