![]() | Sry noob question.. At what time is the cloned branch taken from the mother plant? If you know it is a female plant can it be taken while still in veg (w/o causing too much plant stress : p ) ? Otherwise would you not have to wait til budding starts or finishes? I want to get a rotation going but I've never attempted cloning before. thx all.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | you can take a clone during veg- flower if you want ,only thing is you have to reveg herif in flowering ,but it sure beats messing with seeds during the colder months ![]() Last edited by JUNGLEOFEDEN1; 11-30-2008 at 09:42 AM.. Clones are taken preferably from veg plants, and very rarely if its a must, can be taken during early flowering but it will take much longer to root. And of course from a female plant, it wont make sense to clone a male plant. If you have a plant that you don't know the sex of it yet, you can take a clone and throw it in to flowering to determine its sex. Read the early posts of this guide for directions on how to clone your mother plant. Have fun cloning buddy.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | jungle, I think stereoponics was directing his Q's to me, not to the general public. But, since you jumped in my living room, let me ask you: what gives you the idea that you can't "mess" with seeds in the "colder months" That, makes no sense to me. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | So checked all my clones and none rooted. Im still getting the problem of stem sealing. Fuck . . . . I cut these things like as soon as there removed from water and than there dipped in rooting powder, and onto the soil. Should I maybe leave the dome on for more than 2 days ? less than ? Whey is this air sealing stuff getting me so bad?

I do have another thread open that you can jump right in and throw your opinions on the subject or anything else you wish, I'll welcome that, and I really do appreciate your input on the subject. But please, lets keep this thread for debates about cloning only, otherwise there will be so many posts about other things in here that will be hard for people to follow. Thank you for understanding and please, do come to my other thread, cause I'll like to debate what you said about "cold" & "seeds". ![]()

What are you using to cut clones with? And I'm asking this because, if you're using scissors that are not sharp as blades you might be damaging the stem (crushing it). Also, the other thing that comes to mind is, do you open a hole in the soil and drop the stem in, or you push the stem in to the soil? BTW, What strain are you cloning?

![]() ![]() ![]() | Im cloning Thai Stick. These clones are short. Like 2" in length. Umm I noticed last night when I was watering some soil for my seedling that as the water is going through the soil I could see air bubble popping from the surface. Would it be a good idea to water to push out the air before I plant the clone? Im using Utilty knife blades. This time I sterilized a brand new pair of scissors to try.
