![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good morning, Before switching to Lou' method I used to do similair to what you do Smokie, although I used a 6pak container with (6) cuttings and would place a 1gallon ZipLoc bag folded in half on itself, like turning inside out but keeping the bag half height with double walled sides (sort of) and single sided top. I'd cut little vents out of the top corners for venting and place the bag over the 6pak on a tary.. Worked very well for a little while, got good results from this method. Lous method allows more room for the humidity to build up allowing me "not to have to check daily" in for the first 48 hours and check after that.. Much better scenario with much better results.. more cloneage to the success rate. Have a Great day don

[pic 2] Mutoid had a root disorder in the finishing straight, so was culled for the hash pot.pic 4 You were right about one of the 'losing clones winning the day'; the Queen of the losing clones. pic 3. Got 2 clones and 4 tops ready to go to flower, other girls revegging, so all happening. best wishes nigel

![]() | I have been reading for the past few evenings every single one of the 603 posts here lovely reading tho, and thank you all Lou Cypher your guide rullz man, you explained logical some of missing parts in my puzzle of cloning, and for that I thank you. ![]() Now some questions pls! I am trying to clone plants in Flower Foam (some sort for wet flowers I found). No PH testing done on it, just let it soak in water for a few hours then followed the guide by the book sooo.... a different environment for the roots to develop in. (pics soon only 2 days and 1/2 since cuttin'). Any1 had any experience with Flower Foam before? Is RED Fluorescent light a stimulator for stem and root growth? Peace, over and out!

![]() If I'm right you are referring to Oasis foam or otherwise known as Quickie, used by flower shops to mount live flowers. Few growers did/do used them in here with good results, they are as inert as Rockwool, and the only negative part that I can think of will be that they dry fast, so keep an eye on them on third day. Also tap water might be to alkaline for this media, you might want to PH the water down a bit (if your Tap its sitting at 7.0 or higher). As about the red floro I'm not sure I understand which light you are talking about, can you give me some details. Take to count that any kind light will grow a plant, the better the light the better the plant. ![]()

![]() | Thank for telling me that flower foam is the same thing as oasis (cause I've read about oasis )I didn't lower the Ph on the water so it was tap water (7 Ph) - will try it next time at 5.5. Now is the 3rd day without opening the container and they looked very much alive like 1 hour in fresh air, then one of them was showing some wilting signs, so I closed them up again. The cubes were moist so no wetting was required. ![]() ![]() I was reading somewhere that light in red spectrum stimulates stem and root growth, and I was hopping to achieve this kind of growth, by using this kind of light instead of Cool White Fluorescent, after 4-5 days when the root is supposed to be small and could use some good words from us to the plant. I placed a white paper sheet to get an idea of the light colour. ![]() cheers for the assistance. :

I cut clones off mother i keep in 24 hrs of Metal Halide. 45 degree cut / rootone powder place clone in rapid rooter plug plugs in tray tray in dome dome on low seed mat under two 4 ft floros an inch off dome top fastestest ive experienced is 8 - 10 days longest is 20 imo red may be to hot my experience is soft white light less heat just enough light to get it going humidity is the key my man told me you want 93 % humidity and the way to tell is sides will fog top will not keep the fog like that money just can take longer 10 plus days. another key first day every few hrs mist the clones there is a change taking place from recieveing the moisture throught the mist and humidity til it sucks it through the root. takes time and humidity. look for yellowing of the leaft thats because plant using energy to push out roots. Its not dieing its using its parts to create roots and live. But when you think of the term hardy think of a roots spiking out and your lil clone is still grween. GO , "Now thats HARDY". ive had lots of roots push out with no yellowing and lots with yellowing. Some are just more hardy and thats what you live for its fun when you go damn out of pots cause so many took so fast lol. things that make for Hardee Clones genetics genetics genetics Mother Under No Stress under Metal Halide Good Hormones we like Rootone its cheap and quality. Ideal Temp 76 - 78 and Humidity 93 % Floro White Clone Light right on high dome topp for me. get ready to wait 10 days and not freak if it takes longer..

You only need enough light for them to think is daytime, nothing else, scientifically speaking the amount of 5 moons (16w cfl). Whats needed for root encouragement is air and moisture in the media. Since that process can take more than a week and the leaves will start to dying you need humidity not mist to keep them green. If the rooting its prolonged for more than a week due to non perfect environment, the leaves get yellow cause they don't have any nutrients to stay alive, not cause the roots pull nutrients from them to grow. Thats not correct. Roots do not require any kind of nutrient, the stem will pop roots cause is looking for moisture, only the leaves and fruit of the plant requires food. Light color will make a difference on a rooted and growing plant. And yes, red light will elongate the plant and white light will make it more compact and bushy, what every grower is looking for. I'll elongate a plant purposely only if is destined for a donor plant that I'll be taking cuttings from. So for now you shouldn't concerned about the color of the light, your cuttings are not using any of it. ![]() ps: poke some holes on the sides of the cubes to allow some air in to it.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Lou, I just recently started my cloning journey and have been successful rooting quite a few cuttings(thanks to this thread) but as soon as I take them out of my dome they start to wilt real bad and shribble(sp?) up. Do you know why this is? Any help is greatly appreciated!
