I have SOOOOO many plants going now...

recently aquired a 400W hps and a 1000W hps/halide

but.... i cant use the 1000w because the heat is fukin unbearable.

I'm just hangin on to both for friends.

ANYWAYS....

I started another WW mother, because mine was outgrowing her cab.

the kicker is that I've never flowered a plant this big, she's literally about five months old before I put her in!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll post some pics here in a couple days. the five month WW and the three month Red Diesel are my Blowout Grow!!

I know this post is stupid, but Im just so f*&**&*&)*&) EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!

I also started hemping clones a month ago, with great results!!! cant wait to see how they turn out....

I have some advice though, don't do a perpetual with Red Diesel, the clones STRETCH SO MUCH!!!!!

Hey Lou, got a Q for ya. Im thinking about cloning a plant that I have currently in flower outside. I want to because it seems to have real good genetics. Its been turning purple on me and smells amazing, not to mention how good the buds look after 4 weeks or so flowering.

Here are a couple pics of the branches im considering. They are a little thicker and somewhat 'woody'. The last two pics are the brances one node above the other pic, and directly below the main cola. Im considering the branch in the third pic because of the lower growth on it. Gives me something to snip off and stick under the soil.

My question is what should I do differently to this clone, since it is flowering and a lot thicker and harder than something that would normally be cloned?? Do I try and harvest a lot of the bud on top?? I was worried about it molding up while in the humidity dome.

Thanks for your help.

Hey hunter
Did you root your clones straight in hempy?

Didn't have good luck with few of my clones that I tried to root in hempy cups, I can only assume they were too aerated, maybe some more vermiculite would had helped.

Thanks for the tip on the RD's.

aep, nice looking buds my friend, no wonder why you want to preserve it.

Definitely couple of things will be different, starting with the amount of time will take to grab root, considering how far in flowering it is.

Woody will be no problem, there is a hormone that can really help with that, if you can get your hands on some that is, but if not not much too worry.

Take the clone (after you removed the bud) cut couple of nodes off and scrape gently the stem until white appears, don't go deeper than that.

Powder wont do it, you'll need some gel, the wound has to be sealed well and stay on for awhile, you might be looking more than three weeks to take root.

Now you need to do something in keeping the leaves green for the same period of time.
You are worry about mold so I take it, its very humid already there.

Assuming you'll take the clones indoors there will be no problem with RH since you'll be able to control that so a dome its a must.

You don't want to excessively mist it which will be needed after the end of first week.

Soft floros indirectly 24/0 will help a lot.

Good luck
Happy cloning!

Thanks Lou... Lots of help.

I went to a couple stores (Home Depot and Walmart) looking for something for the root stimulation. No luck as its late in the season now, Im going to have to try a couple garden store that are nearby. Hopefully I can find something.

Would it be UN-advisable to try this with NO rooting gel or powder??

Ok so this is the plan...

a -Im going to harvest that top bud and try to leave as many leaves (from within the bud) as I can.
b - Im going to let that heal/regrow for a day
c - Im going to take my cup of moist soil and rooting hormone and go out to the plant with a sterile razor blade.
d - Im going to take the razor blade at 45 degree angle and cut bleow the last growth on the pic.
e - Im going to remove the bottom two nodes at 45 degree angles
f - Im going to lightly scrape the stem to get to a softer part... but not too deep.
g - Im going to dip this branch into horomone up to that 2nd node
h - Im going to stick the dipped clone into a cup of moist soil
i - Im going to take cup with clone and lightly mist with spray, also spraying sealed tupperware container.
j - 2 days from then I will start opening container dail to let fresh air.
k - re mist conatiner once a week??

In between step e and g, when i cut the clone from the mother... should I let it sit in water before cutting off the bottom nodes?? Someone else recommended doing that for one hour... I may just go right to soil.

reality Lou,

I am still on holidays; but visiting friends is included in that job description.lol

Congrats mannywood, glad it worked out for you; the recut was clever stuff, very follow your instincts.

Hunter, be warned; you are exhibiting all the signs of 'clonejunktivitis'.

Don is a classic case of this addiction. lol I can relate to giving away clonal treasure, having found the only true mutoid dead at a friends place.

When i took outside cuttings aegaepae, i cut them long, poked them in a jar of water, put a plastic bag over them, and did the business at home.

Any chance of potting up the stump? I have done this by digging a trench around plant, absolutely saturating till soil like soup, then pulling and gently lifting root ball into a large pot lined with non ferted potting mix, back in a sec with some snaps of my holiday.
