The strain I'm working with this year is soma's G13 haze X nyc diesel . I had true blue and ak47 before and had no trouble cloning those the way I always did. But this certain strain now for some odd reason is just being real stubborn to cloning with a three week delay and only 4 out of 10 actually rooting. real sensitive to 100% RH in the sense that if u leave the dome on for more than 3 hours after you cut them as soon as you take that dome off they wilt and go into shock, and as for the light , you cant have them under any direct light while you try to root them. I have tried many diff things with these clones just to see what works, now Im trying your way with a well draining soil and keeping them above the lights for some defused light. Its been three days so far and none have wilted or turned brown on the tips.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | vonrasta, blue fish sounds good, green weed even better. I hope this guide will help you on your cloning endeavors. No need to chill on the roof either, just pull up a chair, light one up and read a little, if you still have Q's or difficulty cloning, feel free to ask anything, be happy to share. Bushrag , no need for apology's friend. I'm not familiar with soma's G13 x, but I have played a little with NYC Diesel, and they're not too happy to be cloned. They like heat from the bottom and not so high humidity, and I wont try to root them in a solo cup, rather I'll put them in to 4" pots for a little more space cause they don't handle transplant too well either. Now the AK-47 has to be my favorite, cause its so easy to clone it. What type of medium you used to clone them previously?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | LOU Hey man, nice idea here...me likey ![]() So...I had an accident in my grow this past week when I broke the tops off of my two la cons. I probably could have cried, and almost did, but then I remembered *dahdahn!* I had read (or thought I read) the top of the plant is the best/easiest portion to take a clone from. I, swiftly mind you, hopped up, apologized to my little babies and prepared the two tops for cloning. I was hoping to get your opinion on how I am going about this. These are the first clones I am trying to root. It has been over a year and the last run was pretty unsuccessful. I've placed a reptile fogger in a bowl, inside of my dome, with a heat mat underneath. I've got my environment as close to "perfect" as I can. Lighting: 2 26w "daylight" cfls Base temp: low 80s Air temp: mid-upper 70s Relative Humidity: stays in the low 70s. ![]() I have tried to get it higher, I don't know what else to do. I was thinking though, isn't fog nearly 100% humidity? So if my plants are sitting in fog, wouldn't that make my RH near 100% ... or am I just crazy?Anway, wow, long winded Here are some pics of the setup... I am kinda wondering when to take the dome off because once I do, the RH will drop into the 30s. Thanks bud! ![]() -MW

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | mid, how are you man. Tops for cloning, sounds good buddy, you can double the amount of plants. The fogger its a good deal and definitely helps pick up RH dramatically, but keep an eye on temps, don't let them get lower than 80F. Looking at the size of your dome I'll suggest opening the dome every second day just for few min just enough for the air to get fresh. In eight days they should start grabbing root. Some times you can pick the RH in the dome by putting couple of inches of water in the tray of the dome. As the water evaporates (cause of high temps) you get humidity. Keep me posted on the progress buddy, and good luck with them tops. ![]()

I hope you are well, I tried to rep ya but gc says no. I adjusted my heating mat today to help combat the insanely low temps we have been having, hopefully that will boost the overall temp. in the dome. We'll see at least. Water usually ends up collecting in the bottom of the tray because of the fogger, I have been letting it drain off when the level crosses the midway point in the tray. Thanks for the reassurance, man. Oh, regarding the "accidents"...I believe it was because I wasn't stoned . I tend to be more careful and think about what I'm doing when I'm high as opposed to not. Oh well, hopefully these clones will root, then I'llbe all smiles (well, only if the plants turn out to be of the female variety). Happy Holidays Lou! ![]() -MW Last edited by Plucky Purcell; 12-22-2008 at 09:11 PM.. Reason: I'm stupid

![]() | Happy Holidays everyone, hopefully it was very green !!! Lou Cypher I'm back to report the results. But first I have a question about one of the pictures you have posted of the roots showing through the solo cup, How many days is that ? I'm at 10 days now and just this morning I noticed root tips coming near the outer part of the cup. Out of 6 clones I only lost one in a matter of hours for some reason, and out of the 5 left even though I can only see one cup showing roots Im pretty sure 3 have roots already because the tips on those clones are growing new leaf ? This by far has been the fastest response I have gotten, In one of your earlier posts you said that the main thing to do is make those clones look for moisture from the stem down , so what i did diff this time with this stubborn ass strain is is provide only about 40% humidity, medium moisture and never water again and no direct light, kept them above the mh lamp on a shelf getting nothing more than ceiling reflected light. Spoiled little brats , i made them work for that water.!!! i assume in another day I should have enough root showing for some pictures to post

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hey thanks for all of the useful info, I'm going to be attempting my first mother/clone venture within the next few days. I'm currently growing 10 Purple potent x Apollos thunder plants, in a simple 10 plant drip system, under a 400 w HPS. The question I have for you, is can I achieve the same result, using 1.5" rockwool cubes instead of soil? the 1.5 is fairly small, can they become fulled rooted in this system or will i run into complications using sucha small cube? Here's a pic of the system FastGardens.com : Cloning seeding propagation Kit Thanks for any input... dankers
