From what I remember reading I was under the impression that the roots grow through the cube and use the surrounding area for space, but I assume that if you are only using those cubes for the 9 or 10 weeks of flowering it should provide enough space. You can prob get the fastest and best answer from asking GreenDragon2k and/or Swapmeet. You can find them in the chat room sometimes !!!

Here's my clonebox (look familiar? it's a smaller version that fits my space better) with 6 clones on day 1. The lights keep it around 80 degrees with 47% RH in the box.

Fingers crossed - here we go...

Bushrag, the clones in those picks are 7 days old, thats usually how long it takes my strain to root at 90% Rh and 85F temp.

I did couple of tests this past month with few of my extra clones and the results were: when my temp drops bellow 76F the rooting slows down by a week, also if my temp its at 85F but the humidity its bellow 60%, same thing, a delay of a week, and I have to spray them to keep them green.
So my conclusion was, that this particular strain (Hypnotic /WW X ?) requires to be cloned at 85F/90% RH.
One more thing that I see different is, my 2nd & 3rd generation clones were easier to clone than the ones that came from the original mom.

Since I'm cloning this strain for awhile now, I got to know exactly what it needs, keeping notes of temp/RH in every cloning it helps a lot to get it right.
So I'll suggest that you keep notes daily on temp/RH every time you clone, that way you'll learn exactly what is the temp/RH that your strain likes to be cloned at.
Waiting to hear the results of your cloning buddy, let us know.

Happy Holidays.

dankers, IMO cloning in rock wool its a little easier if you're on top them.
And I say this cause, RW dries faster than soil and PH has to be perfect since RW its inert and doesn't have buffering capabilities.
Yes the 1.5" cubes are perfect, as soon as you see roots coming out of it, its time to move them to bigger cubes or the medium of your choice.
I do like that cloner you got, it has a nice high dome and all the toys you need to maintain a good environment for clones.
Just remember that EC and PPM levels play a big role in hydro, unlike soil.
You might want to check couple hydro journals to see what levels are good for your system.
One thing that I like about soil over hydro cloning, is that in soil problems don't mean instant disaster and EC/PPM levels are not that important.

Happy Holidays man.
Post some info on the results if you can.

UTS, No need to cross fingers buddy, that tub will do the trick.
How many clones can you fit in there in total, (in solo cups?)
Is that (47%) RH level inside the tub?
Keep us posted of the progress man.

Happy Holidays to you & yours, my friend.
I hope Santa (or the wife) was good to you last night.

Put my bagseed babies to flower and so far all female, apart from 1 hermie branch.

i went thru last night cleaning up understorey and lst ing colas. From what i trimmed off i made a tub full of clones.

They are pretty rough and ready, not in veg; but should be good practice. Thanks for your efforts round the garden, let you know how it goes. best wishes nigel

47% RH was inside the cab, not inside the tub. I'd already started my 48 hours of solitary confinement and didn't want to open the lid to put it inside the container. I have 6 in there with relative ease though I could probably squeeze 8 if I had to. It is 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 by 17, but because it narrows near the bottom, it limits the number of clones it can fit.

Santa and the wife were right on time

UTS, yup I thought so, cause by looking all the droplets inside the tub, it looks more like 90% RH, where should be.
6 to 8 clones at a time, not bad at all for the size of it, and it does have enough space to build a good amount of RH.
What did you pay for it btw?
I think by Thursday you should be having roots, not a bad to start to a new year.

nigel, How are you man.
You took all these clones while flowering?
Are they in soil right now or you using something else?
Drop some info if you get a chance.

Definitely higher inside the container ($5.95 at Office Max). The water is actually puddled on the bottom
