This is my 3rd run with a bubble cloner. First run took over 2 weeks, but the clones where taken from flowering plants, so I attributed it to that.

Second run took over 2 weeks, but I forgot to paint or lightproof the tupperware container, so I attributed it to that.

This is the 3rd run, today is day 14, only 4/36 showing roots, but pretty healthy ones, others don't even have nubs.

I never PHed or checked my temps, ph was 7.1 today, adjusted it down to 5.6. Res was 75 degrees, temp under a very loose fitting dome is 80.5 during lights on, but I took the dome off today for good, the only reason I left it on this long was that I'm out of town all week and can't monitor.

I didn't count the run where I got a new T-5 light and just plain fried them.

Just wondered if anyone monitors res temps or ph with these. I had faster rooting in rockwool, and even faster in good old soil, yet I've seen some post they were showing roots in a ridiculously short time, like 5 days.

i had the same problem with my bubble cloner, tripps. each run took longer and longer
i gave up after a month on the last run. I am wondering if it has anything to do with how the rez is cleaned after each run - something building up on the plastic? Bleach buildup, maybe, or some sort of fungal growth?

any thoughts?

Nope, 2 brand new containers for this one, I felt the last was too shallow.

I set the pH and ppms at fresh fill and the 20gal volume keeps the numbers stable...Now wheather that has alot to do with it i really don't know...

How long to show roots is typical for yours? (20 gallons how many sites?)

Their not light'in quick (7-9days) as a rule.. I have a set in now that i cut back on the 12th that are just now git'in go'in that ya could probably call average...
The 20gal is for 23 sites... I am a large believer in the stability of mass but it's not necessary at all for success but i can leave the reservoir untouch'd till i take them out 30days later..

How much light and at what distance are those in your journal? I want to say the demand of the leaves are tax'in the stem size but i dang sure would'nt want to cut anymore leaf off those

A 2 tube T-5, 110w total, 16-17" above. First try I set it 8" above, never used a T-5 before, checked them an hour later they were down flat. Live and learn. Do you use a dome, and for how long? I agree about the mass thing, thats why I doubled my res size for this one, but only from 1 gal to 2 gal

Mahn that light sounds good to go... Maybe it's just that process ain't fer your climatic region
No i don't use a dome... along time back i had a system that used jars for domes and i had all kinds of issues and did away with them and the problems..
However..it never did make any sense to me when i live in a low humidity area.
I really do believe that certain methods work better in some regions of the country and looks like your do'in everything in line for success.

Yeah, cuz the house is being heated, even in the basement my RH in the veg chamber is only 38-40%, it's a real loose dome, overlaps at all 4 corners, my RH was higher earlier in the year, I didn't use the dome, except for a day or 2 when a couple wilted initially. Thanks.

PS-water is cuz air pressure was pushing water thru the plugs, drilled a couple holes in the lid and fixed that.

I was reading how sometimes you have problems rooting clones. How many air stones are you running to your plants? I'm running 2 air stones to a 5 gallon res. The bubbles keep the roots white and healthy. Cold basement temps help too. These in the pictures are 3 weeks old. All I can say is decrease the size of the res or increase the amount of air stones. Each will increase the bubbles per square inch.
