"Daisy Cloner" from botanicare.. pump heating water
permalink

has anyone used/seen one of these? it is an aeroponic propagation system that uses a pump in a 1gal reservoir with a sprayer nozzle. it has 8 clone sites in a circle

i am having a problem keeping the reservoir cool... the pump that came with the system is clearly heating the water and stunting the growth of roots. i have not been able to successfully root a single clone out of 16 i have tried... any suggestions?

thanks in advance

I bought one of these quite a while ago and had bad luck with it. Thanks for the idea PotHole Hippy. I think that would work much better!

If you haven't already you can put the pump on a cycle timer and set it for 1 min. on and 5 min. off. That will cut your heat from the pump by about 75% but i must admit PotHole Hippy has offered you the best solution..

I use a cheap mechanical timer with 15 min increments. I usually find that 15 on and 45 off keeps the rez near room temp. Sometimes I go 30 on 30 off when the ambient temps are low (in my basement) to keep the rez temp up closer to 70ºF. The Daisy Cloner works well... I found that maintaining the PH of the water in the rez around 5.8 - 6.0 helps cut the rooting time down. Also change the water weekly.

I've had mine about 3 years now and can't really complain...I have noticed it does better in the winter than the summer because of the heat issue. I keep my house pretty cool so I guess thats why I have't had many problems. I have thought a five gallon bucket (more water) would solve all the heat problems.

Mine puts off clones with huge roots that will go directly into 2 gallon hempys ready to suck up the nutes.

A lot of people have said the Daisy is a pile. I think the botanicare cloners are the best but the daisy is just one sprayer on a pump. The e-z cloners can heat the water too. I like the botanicare 70. Works mint.

i actually have better results in my cloner with rez temps being higher. I dropped an aquarium heater in my rez, set it at 79 degrees, changed the rez every other or every three days and had roots in 7 days on all clones taken.
Bag, what are your temps in the rez running?

Some of mine have taken 14 days or longer.
