They all died!

Yep, all my clones died a week after I cloned them. Don't know what happened but, I followed Lou's guide to the letter. Humidity fine, temps fine, misted the leaves to retain moisture! They went limp one day, then some leaves started dying and turning brown! Then when I removed the dome to check on them....they had this white cotton-looking, spider web looking mold or something. I threw the out along with the soil. These were my tester clones and I'm glad I didn't clone more! I just can't get it right! I can only keep trying. My on successful clone attempt is still alive but growth is very slow! Whats that white stuff?

Mold... when i started my plants, if the water stayed on them/in the soil for to long with no air flow then mold white mold would form quickly... Mine didn't die from it and the mold quickly went away when I put them outside.

sounds to me they got too much moisture, sounds like they damped off. the white stuff sounds like mold. mold or rot, its either white or brown.

did you look to see if there were any roots at all? when you say temps were fine, what was the temps, at the root/stem/cutting level? when did they go limp?

No, they didn't have roots yet. Yeah I put water in the bottom of the tray to increase the humidity. I must've put to much in there. I misted every couple of days. If I put the cloner outdoors will it have enough humidity? I have it in my bathroom. Maybe cover it with a towel so it won't get direct sun?

I've been making a lot of mistakes lately partly because I'm a new parent. At every stage it seems I make a error but, atleast(with you guys), it can be corrected. I got a long way to go! I was feeling good about my grow; kinda smug! I've been humbled though! I'll just approach them not as problems but as opportunities to learn more about what I'm doing! With all these 'problems' soon I'll have a wealth of knowledge to draw from when I am challenged. Thanks guys.
