could be them sucking a bit of energy, to make some roots? Though guessing.

If they are still upright and alive after 2 weeks, i think they will root. I would go to flower with the mother, if that is what you intend to do.

If calamity strikes, and in a week, you need more clones, you can still clip. But if they work and you kept your mother in veg for a week for nothing; well you waste a week of flowering. nigel

I'VE GOT ROOTS!!

I was doing my pH check in my reservoir and decided to mist down the cuttings again, and when I did I noticed a healthy white root growing from one of the plugs. I'm going to check the others and see if they sprouted from the back.

My question is what do I do from here? I don't have any fresh hydroton available yet, need to clean some, so I was wondering how long can they sustain themselves in this dome?

Also, if the roots haven't appeared on any of the other cuttings, do I remove the one with the roots and transplant and leave the rest there for another week, hopefully to root?

EDIT: Just checked good this time, and 3 out of 5 cuttings have roots or a root poking out like a white toothpick. These 3 were made from the top that did not root yet. I'm going to leave these 3 in there for now until I figure out what I should do with them, hopefully the last 2 will root by then. I poured a lil more water in the bottom of the tray to keep the plugs moist, as a couple of them seemed kind of dry.

Well, it will be 16 days tomorrow and my Black Domina cuttings have yet to root. It took 16 days for my Chemdawg D cuttings to show signs of roots.

I'm really hoping they take, so I can throw my the mum in flower. She's a monster and is taking up all my space To think she was the BD I wrote about a couple months ago that had a extreme droop situation, which may have been a shock issue, has now come back so massive .

I'm trying to tie her down and she won't allow it

Also, I have been misting my cuttings almost daily, or whenever my humidity drops below 95%. Yesterday I checked on the cuttings, and I noticed something floating from one of the leaf tips. I opened the lid and my breath blew it like a cob web in the breeze. IT WAS A WEB! I can't imagine spider mites creating such a thick spider web in such a short amount of time, with me misting daily? Especially when there are no typical signs of spider mites on the leaves. I have yet to see anything like this in the vegging portion of my cab and I check on that daily. Could it be that a larger spider had gotten in there and made this?

Well, its been well over 16 days, and I've got nothing but dead BD cuttings and a ton of little white bugs crawling out of the root plugs.

I don't know if this is common or whats going on. I'm probably not going to run my cuttings longer than 16 days tops. I saw the same white bugs at the end of the run last time.

I'm wondering if these bugs are a result of using organic root plugs?

Wasted 2+ weeks for nothing. I'm going to take more cuttings. This time I will attempt to take more soft stem cuttings, as last time the plant was pretty bare to get select cuts from.

Dr F, you may want to consider shutting down your clone shop and treating the area for spider-mites if that is what they are. You are going to have to get those under control or your situation is gonna get nasty quick , especially if they propagate in other parts of your grow.

Hey Pesci, I was planning to take everything out tonight and wipe it down good with some bleach solution.

I don't know if they are mites or not, as they weren't hiding on the underside of the leaves. This may be my n00b knowledge talking though. They seem to be something born within the plugs themselves. They are very easy to see with the human eye, as well. Which leads me to believe they are something other than mites. The dome has remained sealed over my cuttings the entire time. I have not seen anything like this in the rest of my cab, and they do not seem to be coming out of the root plugs in my flood tray.

I removed all 4 of the failed cuttings, 3 of them had these bugs. 2 of them, more so than the other. I noticed one of these on the very last day of my successful cuts last time.

I can only assume they propagated within the root plugs, within the dome and just now finally broke the surface or "learned to walk".

Well it's tough to say, Pesci.

I've never really seen anything like spider mites in my grow. I noticed earlier on, that on one of my plants, one of the leaves had very minute "spider mite" looking damage on the leaves. The classic speckled look. But once I kept up with spraying with water to keep them wet, and neem here and there, I never have seen anything of the sort since.

Today, while cleaning everything out, I was examining my Chemdawg D mum, and I noticed a ton of built up webbing, that almost looked like pocket fuzzies.

Before I jump to conclusions, I have theories on where this came from..

1. The zipper door tends to frey, and releases fibers that almost appear to be little hairs or single strand webbings. Like pet hair, almost.

2. A few days ago, I found a very little spider, that was black making a web from one of the pots to the flood tray. I moved the pot around, which caused the spider to flee, but did not kill it. This might've been the cause of the web like fuzzies. I did not kill this, because I read larger spiders can act as predators.

3. When removing the plants from the grow space, for cleaning, I may have picked up some of the webbing/dust bunnies from a wall or crevice between furniture.

The bugs I noticed in the cutting chamber were very visable, white, and you could see their limbs in detail.

I need to get to the bottom of this, so I know how to react. I wish I knew what a very early mite infestation looks like. Most of the pics available look very typical, yet they claim no infestation is ever the same.

Ok, so I cleaned everything out the best I could. I need to eventually install a better door that can be removed easily, cleaned, and reinstalled without damaging it time after time.

I culled out my FLO which was totally gone since the shock, and I honestly didn't have the patience or space to wait for her to come back around. My Burkle, which was the runt of the litter eventually kicked the bucket also. While giving them their weekly neem treatment, I set her down awkwardly and she fell over, HYDROTON EVERYWHERE! I didn't feel guilty with her at all, as she was cramping the other ladies style.

I'm down to Black Domina and 2 phenos of Chemdawg D. This is better this way, as these 2 strains really held up through all the trial and error. I took quite a few "soft" cuttings from them and gave them a coat of neem, placed them in the dome, spray them with some cutting solution and sprayed the dome, shut it and left.

Hopefully the neem will protect them for the 2 weeks, if those bugs pop up in the plugs before the 16 days is up.
