![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I topped my Chemdawg D plant today, and managed to get 5 decent cuttings from her, including her top. When I cut her, she put off this killer odor Needless to say, I'm glad I have this plant. I stored the topping in a glass of pH'd water, and had a plate with water on it and made my cuts beneath the waterline. I then dipped them in cloning gel and into their rooter plugs, and cut their leaves down. I poured a small amount of the water in the propagation tray to keep the RH up and plugs moist. I misted, added the oven thermometer and placed the dome on top, and placed beneath the light. The light is hovering about 4" above the top of the 7" dome. Everything looks good, but my oven thermometer does not read anything, so I'm pretty clueless as to how the environment is within the dome. They are all labeled and ready to go. We will see what kind of success, if any, I get.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well it will be a week, tomorrow, when I took my Chemdawg D cuttings and I still do not see any roots. I've heard they can take anywhere from 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, depending on the method and strain. Also, I have a thermometer in there but it does not read anything, the meter stays in the same place. As for the cuttings, they are still standing up, looking just as green as they did when I took them. I've read they were suppose to droop after a few days. I'm wondering if my humidome is sufficient enough, as I don't really see much condensation on the inside of the dome. The puddle of water is still in the bottom of the tray. I lifted the dome off maybe twice this entire week. Am I jumping the gun?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Patience, grasshoppa. I've ruined many clones by thinking a week 10 days was enough (in my case)... but NOPE. It takes 14 days here (and that's with a heating mat) it's like "nothin...nothin.... a week... nothin... 10 days.... nope nothin....14 days - oh yes."

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes, I thought so. I will wait it out and keep my fingers crossed. I do not have a heat mat though. I have the tray raised up on two styrofoam pads, hoping this will keep things warm. Thanks Bluecheese and Analog.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 14 days and still no roots. Now that the puddle of water in the bottom of the tray has mostly evaporated, I placed my hygrometer beneath the dome to get a better idea of what the temp and humidty levels are at, since my cheepo dollar store oven thermometer didn't want to read anything. So far the RH within the dome is at 86% and the temp is 80f. I'm not sure if this is sufficient enough to root cuttings. I guess I'm going to have to wait longer, or something. Could it be that since I took these cuttings from the top, that it's going to take longer to see signs of roots?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I checked the hygrometer in my dome and it reads 90% RH at 80f degrees. So the environment seem to be within reasonable range... I'll give it another week and hopefully I'll see something.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | though with the humidity that high watch out for mold or the plants drooping as if over watered. I have had mold start around stem, and where the leaves were touching the soil. Stem infection was invariably fatal, but redeemed some leaves by clipping and allowing plants to dry some. When i overwatered and overhumidified, the leaves got the boatshape and the stem lost rigidity, plants basically collapsed. Just a few things to watch for. best wishes nigel

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey Nigel, the cuttings do not have any signs of mold, droop or boatshape thing happening with the leaves, but I noticed the color has drained from a couple of the leaves from the main cuttings. I'm going to give it another week making it a total of 21 days which I think is far too long to be rooting clones. So I guess if I don't see any roots by then, it will be time to pull the plug and try again.. wasting 3 weeks. I don't know what the problem is really, everything was the way it should've been... I just don't want to end up butchering all my plants in an attempt to successfully clone. After nearly 3 months of vegging, I'm really anxious to flower something out. ![]()
