Question 1: Can I wait till the mother plants determine sex before taking clones, cause I dont wanna take clones then have them be males and throw 'em out... I heard it just takes longer but I wanna make sure I can wait until the plants show signs of pistils before taking cuttings.. Question 2: About how long would it take to root and start to grow if the answer to question 1 is yes..? Question 3: Should I put them under my 1000W HPS after I take them or into a separate area?? i.e. flo's..? Thanx DankFactor

![]() | Hey thanx for answering my questions but I just wanna double check on question 1 cause a few people posted that I cant... I just dont want it to be too late then not be able to take clones, cause the other people said I 'have' to do it before flowering cause the clones from the 'determined female mother' will already be in flowering and I wont be able to veg them... is that true?? Thanx, Dank Factor

![]() | People re-veg plants that have flowered all the time. and I just wanted to clear this part up, while getting the root system started, whatever your method, you don't want them directly under flos like you would a regular vegging plant. because your not trying to make it grow really, you want far less light than that, just enough to keep it alive while the roots form, much more than that will kill it. in fact no direct light if that's possible, or one small flo a couple of feet away could do alright. This is the result of my extensive reading on the subject,in prep for my own, not from personal experience, but if you take a stroll through the propogation forum you'll see enough to subsantiate my claim.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ill second that....from what ive read, and also from expereince as far as the cloning, the longer you wait into flowering, the longer the the cutting will take to root. still VERY possible, just check out smokinrav's threads on cloning in H20 ![]()
