Hey everybody. I am in need of advice. You see, I plan on doing a SoG on my next grow. I will need to be able to produce 256 clones every two months. As I am currently on my first grow I am unsure as to how often clones can be taken. My question is this: How many mother plants are needed to maintain this intense amount of cloning? I currently have three and five more are being cloned at this moment to be used as mothers. They currently sit under a 1000 watt hps. I was thinking that this is a waste of energy and I was thinking about adding this light to my grow room. So, how many mother plants will I need and what kind of lighting is appropriate for maintaining mother plants? Thanks for the help.

Depends on how large you are able to gro your mommies. on a 13" plant I was able to clones three or four every 2 weeks w/ 400w MH. Very interesting though. I hope someone will share, becuz 256 every 2 months is on pretty big scale!!!!!

Damn! I'm gonna need a lot then, eh? Maybe I could do some kind of a staggared grow and just put clones in whenever they're ready since the room will be on 12/12 all the time 'cause Smokinrav told me that I should flower once the clones are rooted with no veg cycle. Nevertheless, I will still be needing to produce 256 clones every two months either way I guess. 400 watt MH, eh? How many mothers can you put under there? I don't really want to expand my operations too much larger 'cause it's already too large for comfort. Hmm.... I wonder if this will be feasible.

With 400w MH I think you could only get 4 to 6 mothers. If you got the room, 1000w MH will give a lot more lumens but you really got to watch heat and ventilation. Good Luck. If you get it all set up, post a pic!!

I plan to document it in the journal forum actually. I think that would be good 'cause there seem to be very few documented SOGs. Something about too many plants and added risk (if you live in the US). Hopefully I'll get my digicam after my current grow. Thanks for the help man. Anyone else got some advice? Also, one more thing.... How many mother's do you think I could get under a 1000w MH 211to420 or anyone?
