I am cloning in a bucket with styrafoam and a air pump and airstone. What kind of light should I use? i have seen your artical with 2 flo's on them and i have read where you should not use direct light but sunlite from a window sill. Will some one tell me the right way. ![]()

I just use a 15 watt flo for my clones and like the results. In water, I have signs of root growth in 7-10 days. In rockwool cubes, I have roots in 7-14 days. If you don't have the budget for new lights, indirect sunlight(on the floor under a sun-facing window) will do just fine. Hope this helps... C.C.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I keep the 15 watt flo about 3" over the top of my humidi-dome...so about 6-8 " from my clones Popa Chubby---> how old are your plants? Clones (cuttings without roots) do best under minimal lighting. You get roots faster So, unless you have 1000 clones under those two 4 footers...your just wasting light and possibly your time. After they have a good start on their roots, you can put them under those 4' flo's for a few weeks veg time. PM me if you have any more q's...I'm happy to help.C.C.

![]() | my mother is 4 months old nice looking lady. do you use rock wool or water to clone? I was told water is better because of rock wool rot on the stalk. would it be better to let sunlite on them or the flo.my first one ate the big one. scared to cut more from mom.I am going to bubble buckets as soon as I get the clone thing right. Iam a california prop 215 medical man. i have the chance to do it legal and can't get it going. Indoor dirt works good for me but need the bubble bucket to do it sooner and better.I am pretty good at growing that is why this pisses me off. to long to wait and see if it is a female. thanks for the help ![]()

I find that my survival rate improves when I do use it. Also, the rockwool cube provides some extra stability when I put them into the baskets with the LICA balls. I've had several water cloned plants just fall over once they're put into the baskets. The plants do better if they root into a stable and solid medium. Try a low watt flo for your clones...it will do wonders I've never seen a stem rot in rockwool...but I can understand how it would happen. If you're using rockwool, just make sure that the cubes stay damp...not wet. In my opinion, it is the search for water and nutrients that makes a fast rooting clone.Oh yeah, no offence intended, but aren't we all Medicinal Grower's I'd say you're a lucky man...but to get that license, you need to be suffering. So, lets get this hydro up and running for you...I want to help C.C.

I put the cuttings into the 1.5" cubes. After they have shown roots(from the small cubes), I put them(rooted clones) into 3" cubes. I use 3" baskets for my resevoirs...so, obviously, they fit quite nicely I then fill the remaining space in the basket with LICA balls. I try to not have any rockwool showing at the top of the baskets.I fill my water up to within 1" - 2" of the bottom of the baskets. This allows the nutrients to "bathe" or " splash" onto the root mass from the airbubbles breaking the surface. Here is a pic (couple years old) of a "drip DWC system". A water pump circulates the nutrient solution from the resevoir to the emitters at the base of each plant. Those are 6" baskets, but I'm sure you see what I mean Keep the q's coming...The more you know, the more you'll grow ![]()
