![]() | Hey all, Legalize here formerly known as DrChronic ![]() Well, after piddling around for a month or so and letting the gals get big, I'm *finally* ready to try and clone again! This time, I'm going to clone hydroponically. I have a large flat bin I bought @ Wal-Mart for $5, it's about 3' by 18" and 8" deep. I've had water in it for two days, uncovered, to disapate any chlorine in the water. Next, I'm going to use a sharp knife to take a leaf at least 4" big, as suggested. The end of this leaf will be dipped lightly into rooting powder and the excess tapped off. Then, I will make a slit in a styrofoam plate and place the leaf stem through this slit, so that the leaf is on top and the freshly cut part of the stem is below- this plate will go into the water, floating naturally. Q: should I set up the airpump now, or wait until I have roots? 2nd Q: should I add the hydro nutes now, or wait for roots? Thanks all! Legalize ![]()

![]() | yo Legal ![]() i hope you know that it aint actually the leaf that you cut man, its tha grwoing tip that comes off for cuttings if youcut leaves all they will do is die on you and leave you with nothing. the answer to your next issue is YES have the airpump in the same water as your new cuttings as they will need oxygenated water to form roots. and your next question, hmmmm lemme see, some people seem to be for adding a VERY WEAK nute solution to their water, but if i am not mistaken, one of the admins (i think ! help me out if u read this please, i cant remember exactly who it was) uses nothing at all and says he gets great results, so its up to you, but maybe you could get another bin and try one with nutes and one without to see which is best for your set up. hope this helps........keep your buds dry Big C

![]() | Hey Legalize -- a/k/a Dr Chronic: Big Cee is right about not using leaves. Please see your post of 9-26-2000 when you were Dr Chronic. Wolfman and lilbuddie explained (eventually) that you can't clone from a leaf. Ya just can't. Growth tips or sideshoots can reproduce as clones, but NOT leaves. I wish leaves could clone -- I'd have a zillion babies. Just tryin' 2 B helpful. DikkiBrd [Edited by DikkiBrd on 11-04-2000 at 10:35 PM]
