I was just wondering if it's normal for clones to be wilting real bad the first day after cutting and planting.

hey,
most clones will wilt, the amount they wilt depends on different things. they should start to perk up in a day or two.

Excess heat is almost always the reason clones wilt badly in the first days

About half of my clones are looking much better now but the other half are pretty much dead. I know that my clone room is not getting too warm but do you think that maybe 65 degrees at night may be too cold for them.

Thanx

Can you describe your method of cloning???

Half of my clones wilt in the first days but recover in a 1/1.5 weeks; i have them under 80W of florus (20 cm away)and getting really close of 100% rooting...

How are you watering them????

Hey Wolfman, thanx for the comeback. I used a cloning gel and I have planted them in about 60% sterelized potting soil and about 40% perlite. I lightly water about every four or five days. I have 2 four foot floros about 30cms above them that I leave on for 24/0. I just got out of camp last night and checked on my babies as soon as I got in and the temp was down to about 65 degrees and I'm wondering if maybe that may be my problem

Thanx

hey droskoe,
yes,65 is way too low for cloning.i dont use one of those dome covers for the humidity but the cloning temperature should be maintained at around 80-85.

keep on rollin......

Whats up guys.

Try checking out the post titled "rooting clones in 7 days" I found it to be very informative. It should help out a little.

Peace

Or....build an aerocloner!

I have had 100% success and does not take that long for beautiful roots to show. I stick them in there and forget about them for a few days. LB is an aerocloner advocate as well.

Hope that helps.
