![]() ![]() | Peat pots work fine when growing from seed, but dont try to clone in them or the expandable peat medium. They molded within a few days of being in the clone chamber. And my temp was in the mid-70s. Oh well, live and learn. BTW, this is a death sentance for my clones, right? Smokin

![]() | Acutally, I had trouble with those peat pots drying out on my seedlngs. I had a whole bunch die on me. I sprayed them several times a day, but they kept drying out. It almost seemed like I needed a drip system to keep them moist enough.

![]() | I say ban the peat pots. Before anyone else gets hurt. How many will have to die before we are listened too? oh, the inhumanity of it all. I wasted a bunch of expensive seeds cause of them things. How do I know it was the pots? Because I staright away ordered the seeds again, and put them in a mix of vermiculite, and perlite, and got 80 percent success rate. Ban the peat pots.

![]() | Hold UP. If you guys are speaking of the Pods, Hold Up. The moss withing the mesh netting that you add water to and swell up are exellent if used RIGHT. In order to use these things, you must have them moist, not soaked. Jiffy makes a good system that you can by for germinating seeds. It comes in either 25 or 72 pods per container. The container has a black base with a clear lid allowing about 4" of clearence so your plants can get some growing done after germination. If you use warm water on the pods then plant the seeds, they will all usually sprout within 3 days. I've had great success with them all. You just need to have the pods enclosed so no moisture escapes. If you got questions, email me.

![]() | No one has to listen to me. If you have doubts and want to try the *PODS* just use some bag seeds that you have no love for and see how they do. If they die, you've only lost about $.13.

![]() | there is no question that peat pots work great for seeds, but that isn't the issue in this thread. the issue is how well they work for clones, which is not well. I have had the same experience, and I believe that both the pH and the water retention of expandable peat pots is not ideal for cloning. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | They work well enough for seeds but the clones need lil more moisture then they allow. I love the aerocloner I use but verm / perl works well too ![]() LB

![]() | Yeah.. I agree also. A clone is something you don't want to take a chance at screwing up. I just didn't want anyone to make a judgement about seeding in moss pods before trying it because well....you know.... I've always had the healthiest seedlings from 'em, but that's not to say that I recommend it. Thanks for clearing things up guys. ¥ Since were on the subject of cloning again, I raked up a pile of leaves the other day that had been out back for a few months. The leaves were fairly moist on the bottom of the pile. I found a clipping under there from my Oleander plant that had been there for months and it was still alive and green but I didn't notice any new roots from it? What does this have to do with MJ cloning? Not sure. Just an observance to ponder perhaps. If you have any comments on this BS let me hear 'em. THANX
