I'm going to try and clone from my two largest plants, but I'm concerned about the right way to go about it. I know that the rooting hormone is a plus, so I'll be buying that today.
What confuses me is what I've read in last month's issue of "High Times." They say that I should "cut the leaf in half." What does that mean, exactly? Where? Are they talking about splitting the end of the stalk to make sure there's no air?

I don't know anything about high times mag. but after removing the excess branches (all except the 2/3 top ones...), you should cut the remaining leaves in half or so to reduce water loss...Clonex works great as a rooting gel...

If you can get those clones to root, i think i will accept your envitation for diner

your not giving enough info,height, stage of flowering if any,i dont know what they mean split the leaves maybe they mean pinching the top off aftewr its second set of leaves come up so you will end up with a v shape stalk, if you want to know about cloning from a mother plant go see thread on this topic(123 help)read my repy to them it always worked for me.

What they mean is to cut the leaf in half by cutting it width wise as opposed to lengthwise .... This is too reduce the amount of surface area of the lef so that it doesn't transpire as much water as it normally woudl which is supposed to encourage rooting as well as keep the cutting from drying out to fast.
