I've recently found this in my local garden centre, its called gel2root, and it was only £6, so I bought a pack to see if it would work. I cut my plants at 45 degrees, stripped the lower leaves and stuck them in this gel (being very sceptical I only put in 5 cuttings). Within 2 weeks there were the beginnings of roots, on all 5. So, i started another batch, and again most rooted. basically, all you have to do with this stuff is put your cuttings in the gel and put them into the propagator (which is included) and then do absolutely nothing but watch them grow. You dont add hormones, you dont water them, you just put some water on the sponge (included) in the bottom of the propagator. Its as easy as that. I tried using loads of different methods to clone my plants but this is definately the most effective, and by far the easiest. Here is a link to the website for more info, I thought i'd share this knowledge with everyone trying to clone plants the hard way!! This I think is only available in the UK, but i'm sure you americans will catch on soon!! gel2root.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=root.category&category=1 Last edited by plainsman1963; 07-23-2003 at 10:36 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've often wondered about this stuff, I saw it in my local garden centre 12 years ago but still there seems to be virtually nothing on this board about it. It did spring to mind when I was getting ready to clone but I've gone for clonex and rockwool instead. I've always wondered, how would you get this from the gel in to a soil or hydro system?

Basically all you have to do, if your using soil, is pot it on, just stick it in the soil and it will automatically do everything itself. If your using hydroponics then you just wash the roots, so they have no gel on them, and then begin. This IDEA of using gel has been around for ages but this is the only one that really works, trust me, i've tried a fair few. Clonex is good, but with this stuff you can see the roots growing, it is far easier and much more effective!

We have grow plugs in U.S. They have everything the cutting needs. They are a brown spongy material about 2" x 11/2" . Just stick cuttings in the plug, and put in clone dome. My last bunch had roots in 5 days, and are in soil under floro's today, the 6th day. The skunk1 that I put in them had dozens of roots over 2 inches long in 5 days. 2 weeks is too long to wait for my set up.
