![]() | hi all ok i got three cuttings thay have beeen dusted with root hormone and inserted into rockwool blocks of approximately 2" square.Ive made up a aerocloner sorta thing ![]() ive put the cuttings including the rockwool into 4"deep pots and filled the gaps with grow rocks. Now the questions 1... before putting in the cuttings i checked to see if water was entering the pots it seems that a fine mist enters. How much water do they need? 2... do i specifically need fluros while they are rooting or can i use my 600 hps light? 3.... how long do i leave the lights on for? 18/6 24/0 ? ![]() ![]()

How's it going? I've had good results with the aerocloner. 1 - not much water or they won't want to grow roots. As long as they don't wilt too much your fine. 2 - I use floros, I think the hps is too strong of a light at this time. Wait until they are rooted then bring on the big boy. 3 - I leave the lights on 24/0 until they show roots, transplant, let them adjust then turn on the bigger lights at whatever interval you want. Hope that helps and check the aeroponic board for my thread, it should help with some more questions you may have. Good luck!

![]() | hi everyone got another question or two ![]() would it be feasible to say that all my 3 clones should root at the same time or thereabouts? as i have one that has roots an 1" long sticking thru the rockwool but the other 2 ummmmmmm well nothing to be seen even though all three are looking nice and healthy?

![]() | Saw your pics and had to laugh at the coincidence, I bought one of those exact same crates which I have set up for a four pot DWC bubbler.....One suggestion those crates let a lot of light through so I made a slip cover out of 100um black plastic to prevent problems with algae later on.... As for your rooting question...don't fret, if they all look healthy the roots on your other plants will pop through any day...on one clone I had one little root poking through one day and the next day there was about five...so it happens pretty quickly...out of seven clones they all rooted within about three days of each other. Did you get your fluro??? I just used two little 12" fluro desk lamps that were sitten around at work and they did the trick real nicely...By the time the roots were comin through they were sending out fresh growth shoots too...this took about 8-9 days all up then it was out from the fluros 24/0 and under the HPS 18/6. ![]() | During cloning you don't really need any nutrients at all however if you have to (which you don't) you should only use a very weak nutrient mix low in nitrogen (bloom formula if your in oz) as the idea is to promote root growth and not vegetative growth. Once roots are established you should still only start using like 1/4 strength nute mix (grow formula) and gradually build up to full strength as plant becomes more established. Can't guarantee that this was your problem though. Also ya mentioned your temp was around 35c you should really try to get that down under 30, were ya using a fan? They help keep temp down as well as help preventing mould and promote stronger stems.. Also misting your young plants helps (but not around your HPS unless you want to blow your tube)....Oh and keep light away from the roots, it will kill them...
