the question speaks for itself. I checked on my single last hydro clone this morning and the roots just arnt running downwards at any type of rate. they broke like a week ago and are just tiny and won't grow in the bubbler? ph, nutes, water fresh, plenty of air, temps 78-85, 3 feet from light as of now, was 1.5-2.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hummm is your medium wet? i find sometimes when i keep my rockwool wet the roots are slow to develop as they have all the necessary moisture contained within the rockwool, so they don't go hunting. maybe give it a little taste of some sea kelp, a weak mixture then let your rockwool dry out. i find this kick starts the roots, usually skitz

![]() ![]() ![]() | thanks for the reply. I took them out of rockwool 5 days ago because thats what I was wondering with the moisture. They're just in clay pellets now in the bubbler. farther from the light as well. anymore idea's? I cant pick up anything from the hydro store, but they're bubbling in 400 ppm water, 5.7ish ph. water doesnt go above 74 degree's.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | careful. 400ppm seems a little high for seedlings that havn't even got legs in the water. if you have a low RH in your room you are gonna have problems with that high a nute solution, or at least i usually find i do. i personally like to start them in a solution of 200ppm or less, then when they ask for it (light green colouring) i add more nutes. better to under nute then let them burn i say. keep your pH from 5.7 - 6.2ish. thats should also help in warding off the nute burn early just let time take its course and let the roots search for the water! skitz

![]() ![]() ![]() | well I learn something everyday, 400ppm to high eh for newer clones? humidity isnt bad, sometimes at night it drops because of temps, but thats the only thing i can think of? the water I start the clones has a ppm of 180-190 already, should I get better water?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ok ok.. stupid skitz ![]() i missed the part about the clones. i was more refering to seedlings. so yeah, starting clones at 400ppm is ok. it still depends on the strain. but really since you water starts at 180ppm ish, then you are really only adding 220ppm, so that should be fine. sorry for the misinformation, i guess i need to read better skitz
