0.4% IBA? Yeah that's the stuff I use Stim-Root pink powder. It's 0.3% I believe and it works wonders!

Rooting/cutting/propergation gel/powder or hormone powder/gel is to encourage roots on new cuttings

Not to be confused with a Hydroponic addative root stimulator designed for inclusion in the res, like B'Cuzz root stimulator etc.

Rooting Stimulator

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I got a new rooting stimulator awhile back - the new stuff that Advanced Nutrients makes. It's called "Juicy Roots" of all things, but it's crazy powerful. It's got a bunch of extra stuff beyond just the rooting hormones to help keep the cutting healthy and give it what it needs to grow those new roots.

It's like one of those cartoon hair tonics, I half expect my table to sprout roots if I spill some on it. Seriously though, I thought I was doing pretty well with my cloning before but since I got the Juicy Roots I haven't lost a single cutting. So as rooting stimulators go it's definitely the best I've found.

I think it was designed with hydroponics in mind, but AFAIK a rooting stimulator is a rooting stimulator, soil or hydro shouldn't matter, right?

True, H&G isn't bad, but IMHO their roots stimulator just on par with everyone else's. If you're just after regular old average success then it'll work no question about it.

My point is that this new Juicy Roots thing Advanced Nutrients came out with is like a kind of next-gen stimulator for roots and rooting. It's not just about getting the cutting to grow new roots, it supercharges every aspect of rooting. I'm not just seeing more cuttings successfully root (100% success so far, btw) I'm seeing them put out roots much earlier, grow them faster, I mean it's just plain better any way you look at it.

And I'm not talking about thicker, hairier roots here. They're FUZZY. We're talking furry. I don't know what they did to make their stimulator do that to roots but holy crap man, I thought it was some kind of fungal growth at first. It gives these new plants a MAJOR jumpstart on life.
