![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I found that having the lights on 24/0 is the one thing I was not doing originally this year. But as soon as I went to lights on fulltime, I started having success. Thanks, cranky, for your guide. Easy to follow and good pics as well.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hello Becker ![]() I'm not so sure about the 24/0 thing, I was always told the dark period is good for root development as the auxins transcend to the bottom of the plant during the dark period helping clones root. I've got clones to root in a week with a dark period, maybe I'll try it with the light on just to see but I feel your success might not be attributed to the light cycle but maybe your improved method from practice. To be honest I'm not totally sure that the whole auxins transcending to the root zone applys to clones, if some one could fill me in I'd be grateful as I need to change my method.

up until a week ago I have always cloned under 24/0 lighting. out of 30+ clones I've taken this way, I've lost 2. Im using 18/6 now, and so far the roots are coming in slower.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well,i started off cloneing and vegging under 18/6.never had a prob with clones rooting this way but like n_d_shadows has said ,i find they root abit faster. plus when vegging under 24/24 i dont notice much diff in growth compared to 18/6.also when i top my plants it only takes aday or 2 for them to recover and there off again..now from my understanding, auxins are stored in the top of the plant when its lights on then work their way down to the roots when its lights off....so even with lights on 24/24 and being topped i dont see hardly any diff in growth results than doing the same under 18/6. so.....auxins ......i know they do have a part to play in the growth of the ganja but how much....well thats for you to figure out....all i know is 24/24 vr's 18/6=hardly any diff in growth wise, topped and all.just my to bobs worth like and yep,you can root clones in 6-8 days useing this method to. stay cool peeps and thanks for the kind words....glad i could help this is a clone after 6 days rooting useing 24/24 cranky

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | OK, next time I clone I'm going to go with the 24/0 light cycle and see if this helps the process. Thanks People ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Its not so much a 24/0 is better as it is they both work. People take cuttings and put on a window sill and get roots. I've done it 4 ways, using 12/12, 18/6, 24/0 and window sill and every way produced roots. some took longer but all were sucessful.

I take a different way when I clone. I use a aquarium with 2-3 inches of water + ortho start up, with b1 (the ortho start up without b1 sucks!) as per the instructions on the bottle. I also add a bubble wand to oxegenate the water. Then I put a sheet of styrofoam 0.75 inches thick with holes punched every 3 inches in the aquarium. I cut and dip the clones just like in soil, but they rest on the styrofoam with their dipped ends in the solution. Finally I cover the top with clear film to keep the humidity high. I have used many methods and found that this method is easy and simple. you should have many rooted clones in about 2 weeks and never have to change the water. Recently I have been experementing with superthrive and I believe it is working pretty well.
