Daltron, That looks amazing! I'm just now getting into my first grow after moving. My wife and I are looking into using clones for future grows. This looks so simple I couldn't even screw it up. Call this a definate try.

growing with clones is the only way to get max effectiveness from your lights and system....no wasted energy on male plants.....and this cloneing system is so simple even I can't screw it up

let me know how it turns out.....and are you journaling any grows at this time?

I like it Dal...nice & easy. Quick too, down to your good conditions there. I like 'em warm too. Using root stimulants (there are organic ones aplenty) you might win another day or 2, but you're dialled in for sure. Would you agree that temps are like a speed control for cuttings? If I want mine sooner they're near 90F with bright light. Slowing them down a week can be done by using 70F and lower light..

The temp and light thing works for me as well, but I must remember to keep the RH % high and mist everyother day with a seaweed and kelp solution {weak solution} and mist every other day with plain water.....whenever my temps are high and they are closer to the lights otherwise they don't finish up lush and green.....

and on the flip side when I slow them down by use of lower light levels and temps I tend not to mist or folair feed as often.....but still keep the RH high mid 80's.......

I have some cuttings in the cloner now I've been vegg'en some Bog BubbleGum, Blue Mystic and one Grape Punch by Bog also.......looks like they have rooted up real nice.......the parent plants have been vegg'en now for about 11 weeks, I'm getting ready to flower them soon and if any one of them turns out to be something special ...well then I will have the mature cutting from the plant to mother and keep around for awhile

Cool thread Dal, I see people nearly everyday with clone issues. I'll be sure to link them up with this one. Nice job bro'

note I'm running a little behind on my next project so I left 5 LifeStar cutting's in there for 21 days...just had no place else to put them ...pulled them out today and whooa baby have they got roots......
I use a lot of Perlite with my clones. Rooting and growing. Like you, I had a few that I let go for some time, and they grew nicely. So I've been taking my extra clones (I always cut a few extra just in case), and flowering them in 20oz cups of Perlite....works great.

I know that before I used the Perlite when rooting. I never could have gotten away with leaving clones in the dome for an extra week or 10 days.

I like that you aren't covering them. I don't have any issues with my cloning method, but I may have to give this a shot anyway. It looks even easier and quicker than my method.

Hey Daltron, nice way to clone if you ask me. I gave it a try, and had roots in ~2 weeks. Then i decided to leave one clone in and veg it, just for fun. Shes still alive, i just pour water in every now and then.

I like the simplicity of it the most. Very easy way to get heathly clones.

Thanks man.

Going into soil!
permalink

Wow, I am so using this is a couple weeks when I'm ready to clone. This is my first grow and I had awesome luck in getting 10/10 female White Rhino's from seeds. They're looking great, and I want about 30 clones or so. I work 12 hour days so constant spraying wouldn't work for me at all. My only questions are these.

When going into soil, I take it you gently pull then up, wash off the perlite then you have some nice exposed roots. Getting them into soil is my question. I guess you'd just hold them at the height I want from the bucket and just fill it in with soil? It seems to me that would squash the roots into a narrow formation. Any detailed info on this procedure? Also, since this is an auto-watering system, are we still using a rooting hormone or any types of high N nutes? I'm really dying to switch to organics, but am still learning how it all works.

Thanks for the great guide and answer to my most pressing problem! I will DEFINATELY post pics and progress in my own thread when cloning time arrives!

** I just remembered I had a third Q. My temps are a bit high, about 80 usually sometimes 85 if I don't air the room out. I'm using 2 400w MH's. I noticed you are using fluoro's. Should I grab a few small ones or will my MH's work since one needs a higher temp for quick rooting?

Man Dal, where were you when I attempted a grow back in the Eighties? Ah, don't answer that.

This thread is great for a newbie like me. This plus the bioponics system, and I'm in business.

Thanks. I'm going to the dollar store and Home Depot at lunch!
