Hey just thought I'd give everyone my 'input'. I tried getting some cloning going not long ago and out of six clones........none made it through. I was using clonex excactly as the tub said (kept in a see-through container to get the humididty up) and they all died! Two were in water (which was changed everyday) and four were in moist vermiculite.

I told my mate of the bad news and he said that I should try cloning without any clonex aid. Very dilute bloom fertaliser used. So doubtfully i followed his advice, two clones in moist rockwool, propagating covered tray (non-heated), under two 24" flo's, sprayed twice as I kept forgetting with frsh tepid tap water. About 2 weeks later result!!

So if anyone else tries this and gets results let me know!!

So you didn't use rockwool the first time and you did the second time?

Hmmm try using the clonex nd rw together

Funny about the vermiculite though that is my second favorite way to clone

I'll try and do 4 clones in about a week, and I'll try half in rockwoll without clonex and half with - just a little experiment to see what happens!!

High all.

I'm currently using only plain pro-mix potting soil in 16oz red colored beer cups with 90% + success.

First i cut notches off the bottom of the glasses, then i water the soil until water drips out the bottom, tap the pot on the ground a few times to pack the soil well, then i poke a hole into the soil with a bic pen.

Cut my clones from their mothers, take off the bottom leaves only leaving the growing tip and 2 side leaves, and drop them into a full glass of pure water with a few drops of B1 root hormone.

After a half hour or so i take the clone out of the water and cut with a BLADE KNIFE ( here is the important part, using dull scisors will crush the stem and roots don't start, use a clean blade knife ) and making a cut about 1/4 inch below a stripped internode ( remember the part about removing all the leaves except the top few? well the leaves that were cut off will leave a gash in the stem and this is where you make your final cut before inserting into the soil ) cut just below this gash.

prop them under 4 foot fluo's and in 2 weeks you got a new plant!

Works so far, i seem to have better success using rooting gel before i pop them in the dirt, they recover faster i find, but it works either way.

Try to not touch the end of the stem with your fingers where the roots will develop, dirty hands will kill clones.
