![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | get ya scissors and your rootin hormone its time to take cuttings. seriously though she looks ready to me. are the nodes alternating yet? if not you might want to wait till they do, as this is a sign of maturaty. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It seems to me that she does not have alternating nodes. I would wait until she is a bit healthier also, leafs show something is wrong. The first drawing shows an inmature plant, the second drawing shows a mature plant with alternating nodes. This is what you need to look for to know the answer to your question.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | thank you for your diagram. that picture made her leaves look yellow(i added a few more)...i think its the hps light reflecting...actually she is kelly green in color. what is it that made you think she is not healthy??? i really don't want to screw this up...especially if she's the only girlie girlie. thanks!!!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | From the new pictures I can see that she still not mature enough for cloning, besides you still cannot know if she is a female. Without alternating nodes and preflowers it is not possible to know for sure. I thought the leafs were yellow, if they are not then forget I even said anything. Anyways I see that the leafs may be a bit wrinkled, not completely smooth surface, if that is the case you could have a heath issue. Maybe a deficiency, it is hard to tell. Do you give her nutes? how much?, do you test the soil pH?. that could be where the problem is. Again, if your leafs are smooth and I just missread the picture then forget all this. Taking clones is very simple, but if you have a plant that is not healthy the proccess could take longer. Once you see alternating node, just pic a branch from the bottom preferably because you want a branch with no to much nitrogen (N is mobible inside the plant so the upper branches get the most N where the growth is more noticeble). So lower branches are not as N loaded as the top branches are. Once you pic a nice and green healthy branch, make sure you have at least 3 nodes. prepare the branch by cutting all the leafs you don't need and just leave 2 or 3 leafs. and the new growth. As soon as you cut the branch, dip it in water or gel rooting solution, eithe will work just fine. This is an important step because when you cut the stem, air will want to get sucked inside and by doing this the stem can die. After soaking the stem for a minute, insert it in you pot with soil. Preferably a light soilless mix with perlite. NOT TO WET, just moist. Put the clone inside a dome to reduce the amount of transpiration that occurs, and spray the clone daily with water. I have found that using tap water works BUT first you must leave the water sitting in a open container for 2 days because Chlorine is not what they need right now. After the Chlorine evaporates use the water for the clones. Hope this helps.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well i think its a female...i can clearly see the pistils(2 white hairs thingies) coming out...where as on the others i saw the dingle balls. i see she is not alternating nodes...she's getting to be about 14" tall...i'm wondering if i should start the 12/12??? i just repotted her on the 11/21 so i didn't put any food in water until today...and only half strength...a miracle grow 8-7-6. the ph meter says its a tad under 7. i just took a picture of her but its hard to get that close up with my pos camera...and keep the detail. thanks for your input! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You are right, that is a female. Usually they don't develop preflowers until they have alternating nodes, at least that is what I've seen and heard. I learn something new here everyday, thank you. Anyway, It is my advice and they advice of everybody here that you wait for her to develop alternating nodes before flowering. If you are under a time limit then you could start flowering her right now, but the outcome will be not as good. Hope this helps.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just wanna add a few things here...This is just my opinion...There's dozens of ways to clone...I use a razor, not scissors. I think scissors will tend to pinch, rather than cut. I also make a second cut when the clone's stem is submerged in water, as to keep air out of the stem. Then I dip it in the hormone, tap off any excess powder, and into soil with it. I like to cover them with a humidity dome and spray them several times a day to ensure they won't dry up...Also, keep 'em out of direct light. Shade them under other plants so they don't get too much light for about a week. That should do it...Oh, congrats on the female, litebuzz!!! ![]()
