Hi all. I was hoping maybe one of you could help me with a decision I am trying to make. You see, I have 3 babies from my first grow getting ready for harvest. I also have 5 seeds left. I figured I should learn the ropes of growing better before I dabble into cloning, but since the overgrow has been shutdown, I'm worried about being able to get more seeds. So what should i do? i could: 1) Try to clone one of the 3 babes that are getting close to harvest ( buds just started forming and ive been on 12/12 for a couple weeks) or.... 2) Try to find seeds from somewhere else ? not sure if there are any reliable spots now... or i could 3) Try to get a mother from my last 5 seeds and attempt to clone her Cloning seems kinda hard though , I've read how to do it but I have no idea where to find the cloning solutions , and grow cubes. so whatcha thinK?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If you're looking for a reliable seedbank, check out Dr. Chronic. I just started flowering my first set of successful clones. Practice and Patience are the keys to cloning. Mine took between 2-3 weeks to root while just sitting in a 20oz bottle of water. There are many other methods which may take a shorter process, but I was just "experimenting". The cuttings may take even longer to root when their taken in flowering. Basically, while in veg the plants energy goes to making roots, but in flowering it shifts it's energy to bud production. Thus making it harder to clone in flowering. Does that make sense?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If when you harvest, you take EXTRA care to ONLY remove the buds, it will be possible to take cutting from your plant. These cuttings WILL take longer to root though. Another option is to reveg the plant after harvest. Then right before your 12/12 cycle, take cuttings. Keep those seeds just incase your first clone-session is a total disaster and you need to redo everything. There are plenty of seed banks out there... my fav WAS hempqc, but if the mods don't mind, try out seedbay.com Good luck! -GT

![]() | take the clones. they may take an extra week to root though, but at least you'll know what your getting. if your system is hydro use a 3 inch grow wool block, making sure you use a rooting hormone such as " clonex". if your using an organic medium again dip the clone in "clonex" then in a 3 inch pot of potting mix. wait till the clones drop roots out the bottom, then transplant to a bigger pot. ![]()

![]() | do what I do. U need a coffe cup, plastic wrap and water. Pour water half way and cover the cup with wrap. punch small holes and place the cuttings into those wholes. Their stems shold be 2cm deep in water. Protect them from direct light for 15 days and you will get roots....Last time I got 8 out of 8 which is 100% success. The simplest way is the best way...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey heres my 2 cents.. Id take a few clones from thoes ladies. This way you can get a garnteed mother. They help once you get more into growing and build tables witch ud rather just leave your plant in then rip half out. Keep thoes other seeds for later use or to sell to a friend. Its not as hard as you think to clone. Ill give you some pointers for hydro. 1. Dont over soak your cubes. Soak them fully then squeeze them like a sponge. I noticed if u leave to much water the stem will just rot. 2. Clip the half the leaf's in half. I mean as in theres a leaf growing off.. It has lets say 5 pedals. Clip the biggest 3 inhalf. It will help with hummity and help the clone from other problems. If you notice waile cloing the ends of the elafs sually yellow and rot. So I clip mine. 3. Try to keep lots of hummity on the dome/bag you have over the clones. 4. Sprinkle some water on the clones the first 3-4 days. 5. Don't pull on the clones dont move them around dont spin them to see if they grew roots. Some clones root within 5 days some root withjin 2 weeks. Its a waiting game. I use smaller cubes so I can see the roots come threw. 6. make sure U put a hole bigger then the cutting into the cube. If not ur just going to rub the cloning gel/power off waile sliding it in. Once cutting is in rip a bit of the cube off the sides and stuff it gently around the stem to secure it. You dont want the cutting spinning or drooping over in the hole. I usally pack 4 small pieces around to keep it even. 7. People say run 24/7 But i believe in giving them atleast 1 hour a day in dark to actully devolp rooting harmones. i mighjt be wrong but Iv done this with good success so. 8. Dont over water them!!! If the cubes get to wet it will just cause rot! 9. If some parts of the clone start dieing dont panic! Its common for lower leafs to die off. 10. Try to cut most the leafs off. I cut my clones around the 4th nod. I leave the first set of leaf's and second set but cut the second set. I cut off all below and shave 1/2" off the bottom of the cutting. 11. Keep the room warm. Dont set the cloning dome or clones on something cold or metal or something that conducts cold. You want to keep them quite warm. 12. Once you see roots comming from your cubes get them into there next step! Light is bad for roots. 13. Once you have roots on the clones give them a very weak feed of nutes for the first 5 days.. It should promote new groth right away. If you introduce them to high ammount of nutes at first and they go into lockout they chould die from the shock. This is just some things I do waile I clone. you can also set cuttings in a glass of water in light and they root. Suprizing I know lol. Neways this is just my 2cents hope it helps!! WeedMan

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'd agree - cloning isn't difficult, it just takes a bit of precision and a lot of patience. Breeding is also an option and a valuable skill to learn. You've gotten some good advice here, and you're more than a couple of steps towards total self sufficiency, which is what this game is all about, aye? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | http://www.hempcultivation.com/420/s...ad.php?t=75812 Hope I posted that right. Anyway, for a soil start this is the thread that has helped a lot of people. The toughest part of cloning to me is patience. I still have a couple of plants that aren't growing after a month, but they look pretty healthy... I started clones the second week of flower. Some are still a bit confused about what they are supposed to be doing, but most look pretty healthy. I'm going to have a few more plants ready to veg just a little longer as soon as I harvest the current crop. It's a great way of getting a lot more out of one little seed. Save those seeds for next year's season, you never know what's going to happen with the seed banks. Do the clone thang, man, you'll thank yourself for it again and again. If you learn to clone, you don't really need a mother plant. Read the crankster's thread... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Clone them NOW!. It will take a bit longer but they will root eventually and you´ll have your mother. Cloning is absolutely easy, I learned to clone because of an accident I had in my first grow.... The Bat-Wing reflector landed on top of my biggest plant and cutted the main stem in half!, I had no Gel, nothing ready for cloning, didn´t even submerged the stem in water, nothing... I just grabbed a cup with light moist soil and planted the part of that plant that was cut, and placed it in a dome, spray it with water, That´s it. It worked, now I take other precautions when cloning but all are just ways of making the clone root faster, eventually almost all root.
