i used your recipe last night, and it worked exactly as you said..mine wasnt as flourescent but I think all the thc is in the butter for sure..the brownies are cooking right now...this **** is good for real. I used 1 hermaphrodite plant for scraps, with o nbuds just all cystally leaves and stems...maybe thats why the florescence isnt as expected..but it had a tint of light green so i know it was worth it..i was gonna take pics of the steps to add along here, but i didnt...so ill take pics of the brownies

Sounds good bro... Can't wait to hear how your experience is. I like to keep the brownies in my freezer so I can eat them every so often. Had one last night. Put me and my two buddies practically in a coma. I was sitting at the poker table and I could barely keep my head up. Gotta love them brownies.

There can be some THC in that ugly water. But it is merely the THC that did not bond to the fat of the butter. I suppose you could drink it, but I would not advise it. That is some nasty water when it is done. Remember. if it does not seem like it is kicking in right away WAIT before you eat more. Otherwise, you may get knocked out... fast.

LOL...thanks for the props KP...took long enough for me to open an account on here so I don't blame you . About that narsty water, I'd say there's a very good chance that there's THC in there, but probably not much. The thing is, it tastes SO bad, whether you drink it or add it to the batter, that I would NEVER, EVER recommend it. If you only used buds it'd probably be less sick, but why would you waste your buds in this process? I've made probably two and a half dozen batches of brownies since 2000, beginning with a disasterous experiment which later led me to this method. In those days, I tried all kinds of methods, but I used buds and definitely wasted some cash. My experience has taught me two things:
First, don't cook with anything but scraps, otherwise you're definitely wasting good THC (I believe that what's needed here is quantity, not quality....less THC remains in the plant-stuff after the extraction and also you'll feel better throwing cooked scraps in the trash than cooked buds. Before I had access to scraps, I'd use an ounce or two of the cheapest shwag I could get....using dank is almost sinful.)
The second thing I've learned is that brownies are absolutely no substitute to smoking uncooked chronic, but that's a matter of opinion. It's definitely worth trying...you get VERY high for a VERY long period...higher than you could by only smoking, and I've definitely woken up stoned after a night of heavy stonededness. However, I feel that the high from ingesting THC is less enjoyable, and MOST CERTAINLY more tiring. These things will KNOCK YOU OUT. You can totally ruin a day by eating some brownies early...trust me, you'll be knocked out by nightfall. On the other hand, it's a great way to make use of your scraps, unless you want to make hashish or oil. Cooking is way easier. Just remember that you're brownies are sleeping pills in disguise.

As for evaporating THC, I'd say it's probably not a problem at all. As a large, mostly nonpolar, organic molecule, it's boiling point is 200 C according to my merck manual. Furthermore, while it is true that the bottom of the pot is hotter than anywhere else, the boiling mixture is constantly circulating. Also, since the VAST majority of substance in there is water, even in the plant-matter, the average temperature of the whole liquid mixture will never pass 100 C. And that IS an average; some will be a bit hotter and some will be a bit cooler. The main point is that everything is circulating. In lab, the heat of reaction mixtures is always very important, and keeping a steady temperature throughout the mixture is easily solved by adding a magnetic stirrer. In a large pot, however, this is absolutely unnecessary. Trust me.

So exactly how much scraps{in weight} should i use per 1 block of margarine/butter. I want to make one huge batch of cannabutter with like 30 ounces of scraps, but I still want to know exactly how much scraps I should use per block of margarine/butter.

Hey Canuck. It's hard to say exactly how much green I use per stick of butter, since I always use as much as I can fit in the pot. I like to take my scraps and throw them in the blender with some water, so that I can almost completely saturate the water with the newly-chopped up scraps. That way I fit about as much as I can into the solution. Also, I'd like to add that I use 1.5 sticks of butter, for two reasons. First, some butter will definitely evaporate (don't worry, the dissolved THC won't evaporate with it) leaving you with less than you started with. Also, since I use a pretty wide pot, 1 stick will leave a layer of butter that's pretty thin, which, when I try to remove it, leaves tiny pieces of butter in the water that I have to strain out. For me, 1.5 sticks is enough butter to leave a thick enough layer that's easy to yank out of the pot. Just remember, the more butter you use, the more dilute it will be.

Do you have a recommendation for the amount of scraps I should use for
1-1.5 sticks of margarine/butter? I'm a technical person, I feel comfortable doing things when I have the numbers in front of me.
